Our family can’t say enough wonderful things about [name removed] and [name removed] of Scioto. During our tour, [name removed] did an amazing job of educating us about the world of senior living and made us feel very comfortable that they are equipped to take great care of their residents throughout the course of their lives. This facility is very warm and inviting with a really nice homey feel. I would recommend that anyone looking for assisted living in the area adds this facility to their list of places to visit.

Loved this place from the moment I walked in! It is not as large as others of its kind, but that's one of the things I liked best about it! And what it may have lacked in size, it more than made up for in charm. From the moment I walked in the front door--and straight into several cozy resident gathering areas--it felt like home. Getting around was simple. The corridors are easy to maneuver and all rooms are off a square that no matter where you start, if you walk in the same direction, it takes you to the front gathering spot or back to where you started! No getting lost in long halls or short offshoots of a maze of hallways! Everything was charming and comfortable. From the Bistro to the dining room to the delightful inner courtyard (no wandering off from outer patios or multiple exits), it felt safe and secure. Best of all was the staff! I met with several ([Name removed] , [Name removed] , and [Name removed] ) and each was pleasant and seemed truly pleased to be there. The smiles, hugs, and addressing of residents by their first names was an indication of the family atmosphere that permeated the facility. We toured an assisted living studio and a one-bedroom apartment. We wanted a one-bedroom apartment for our mom and although that apartment was smaller than several we'd viewed elsewhere, it was well-designed and completely satisfactory for our mom's needs. The window in the bedroom let in plenty of light and the ledge in the wall separating the bedroom from the living space allowed for natural light to enter the living area--and also served as a nice place to display special treasures. While the fees were a bit more than we'd hoped to pay, I feel they were justified in all the extra touches that were evident throughout the facility. One last thing. Our mother has a cat that she dearly loves and there was no question that we would have to find a place that accepted small pets. Not only does Buckford of Greenwood allow pets, but they go above and beyond and provide pet care services if a resident becomes unable to care for their pet's needs at some point. That was NOT an option anywhere else we looked! After two visits in two days, I am bringing my mother in for a visit and pray that she'll feel as much at home there as I did!

This is a beautiful facility, but the amazing staff are what makes it. They know my dad is a quiet man and they’ve brought him out of his shell! Every time we visit there’s a smile on his face. The nurses have been able to detect some big health concerns that they’ve had addressed too. That was a god send! We’re so thankful for these amazing people! If you want your loved one to have the best care you have to move them here. I don’t stress about him anymore! They’ve got it all covered.

Met and exceeded our expectations. This is definitely at the top of our list as a home for our father. We were greeted as family upon arrival and it just continued from there. Bickford had everything our father needed to feel independent and safe.

Very nice facility. It has a welcoming feel and with a small memory care unit of 15, my mother would probably get needed attention.

Good tour of a modern facility. Staff very pleasant and helpful. A secure facility. Nice apartments for assisted living.

My dad is here in the memory care unit. The staff is very attentive and responsive. They treat residents there with a personable human approach. They will engage him to join the daily activities. They have an activity bus that will go on outings or take him to the doctor. The food is very good with options. It has a nice courtyard are with music and nice furniture. Housekeeping does a good job at keeping things clean.

Toured at 2PM. Difficulty entering the facility as there is no receptionist and a code is required to enter and exit. [Removed] gave has a complete tour and a good overview. She also recommended a good mover. Very nice facility. Members of the staff were recreating an [Removed] Sisters tune - impressive. Maybe it was the hour of the day, but we did not see many folks in the common areas, as most must have been in their rooms. Dinning and choice of foods looked excellent.

I so want to live here. They have actual apts. Not just rooms.[Removed] was so helpful and encouraging.The residents were smiling and the food looked good.They consider this your home and they are providing services in your place. I like that concept. Plus they are pet friendly. That is certainly a plus.

We had a great experience at Bickford Cottage. My mom stayed for 12 days. She is 101 and they took great care of here. [Removed], the director is fantastic. I would rate it a +10 in all areas. I was especially impressed how quickly someone returned my inquiry on your website with a phone call. And then the girl that called me was so knowledgeable about where she thought my mom belonged. I had considered a nursing home for respite care but she thought my mom would do fine at Bickford Cottage and she was right. We met wonderful people there and it is only 5 minutes from my home. I plan to use it again in March.

Everything is going pretty well for my brother here. The staff is great; they’re friendly and knowledgeable. They seem to be taking good care of him. We go down to visit and he is always dressed and showered. The director, [Removed], has been really good with him. [Removed]visits my brother a lot, only my husband and I visit from time to time so my brother doesn’t get a lot of company, so he enjoys it when others engage with him. She is also very accessible, even through text message; she is there almost 24 hours I don’t think she ever leaves. They are very attentive to folks. He likes the food, which was the first hurdle because he’s a picky eater. They make it by scratch and they can make somethings on request. There is also don’t pressure us with moving him to permanent living. There is no signing a contract only a 30 days’ notice which I like. I really can’t say a bad thing about this place.

I love Bickford for its home-style environment, small resident size and professional staff. Mom attends activities with the caregiver's assistance, however, does not remember what she has done when asked later.

This facility is absolutely beautiful. It is a new building and all of the staff members are very accommodating. They bent over backward to get our family in to tour the facility. The staff was wonderful and they explained everything to us. I can’t say enough about the staff and how wonderful they are. They were very understanding. The layout of the building was beautifully done and the dining room was more like a little restaurant. I would recommend this facility to other families.

A beautiful home like environment. Lots of activities planned both in the facility and outside day trips. Understanding and caring staff.

I toured here when looking for a place for my dad and this place was very, very nice. It was mainly occupied by females at the time, though there were a few gentlemen around. There seemed to be activities for everyone and they had a restaurant style dining area. The facility looked very, very clean and it’s only been around for about a year so everything is pretty updated. When I first walked in, the first thing that I noticed was that it was an open floor plan, so it was like walking into someone’s home or their living room. The rooms were nice and even had kitchenettes. My dad would be here if it had been a bit more affordable

The staff at Bickford have been super helpful, and have gone way out on a limb for us to accommodate and help us. They have just ben great. The food is excellent, and my friend just loves it. They have a wide array of activities and outings for the residents, and the community is clean with all brand new furniture. I also like that each wing has their own dining room, so the community retains a smaller, more homey feel.

Loved the place! It's about $500 more than our monthly joint net income! I'd have to find $500 more a month to pay and then live off savings. Neurologist said hubby is very advanced and has 2 yrs max. I'd spend an extra $50,000 from savings. Tough decision. Gave $500 refundable deposit. Small family owned...good feeling for the place!
