A good place for Dad!

My mother is currently a resident of Limestone Lodge. She has been a resident for over 6 months now. During this very difficult time, the staff and administration has done much to make the transition bearable. From day one, they have done all they could to help make mother comfortable. They do the "little" things that make her stay comfortable like asking what food she would like to eat and try to prepare it the same day, if they can, and if not the same day very shortly after. I would be remiss if I didn't compliment mother's special assistant, Miss Lynn. She is a person that goes the extra mile and doesn't do this job as a job but because she loves people, especially my mother. From day one, she has gone out of her way to make mother comfortable, happy, loved, and cared for. Overall, the experience at Limestone Lodge has been outstanding. The only reason I gave them a "4" instead of a "5" is there is some room for improvement in the area of mail and phone service. Because a cell phone is often hard to use for the elderly, our family would like a land line to be included in the cost. Mail service has been intermittent and at times, frustrating.

Still first choice due to location and security features in case of wandering off.

I did not like this community because it was too congested inside. The community area was not big and just felt close. Just not enough space for all that was going on. The staff were very friendly it was just not the environment that I was looking for.

The facility provides as much a possible for the residentss.

My mother was living there for a couple months. Admittedly, she was a very difficult resident at the time. She packed up her stuff to leave every day, and constantly bugged the staff about going home. It came to a head on one night and she nearly climbed out a window. The staff couldn't deal with her anymore so they sent her to a hospital to try different medications. This was fine (although I feel like they could have been more patient) but what came next was extremely unprofessional. They clearly didn't want her back. They refused to allow it until they received very specific wording from a very specific hospital staff that she was ready to come back. We had gotten what they requested several times, but it was never good enough. They clearly were making excuses to refuse her return, but didn't want to say that outright. They basically forced us to pull my mother out of there so they wouldn't have to directly say they were not equipped to take care of her. I would say if an elder is low mobility and/or is easy to distract, the place is good. However, they are not able to take care of the more difficult cases. Luckily we love where she is at now

The reason for my low rating is because they don't take good care of the people. My mom was dehydrated, potassium was super low and her magnesium too. She end up in the hospital for [time frame removed] days. They don't pay attention to how much people eat or drink. They served the food and pick up is just a job for the staff nothing else.

My experience for my mother's care has had its ups and downs and downs. Initial contact with Ms [name removed] is phenomenal, I wish I could have dealt with her for everything. Look out for hidden cost when seeking out this facility. The food service, care givers and med techs are exceptional. My biggest concern is the so called RN always available and the follow up. Everything else is ok, my mother seems happy enough.

The staff was very kind and professional.

Seems to be a high turnover rate of employees. I would recommend the facility to others.

Our family had an in person tour with Limestone Lodge and the facility was clean it looked well kept on the outside but it did not have a homey feeling to it. The residents were like zombies. Not one of the people I saw made any type of facial expression.

I did really like Gardens of Pelham but it was EXTREMELY expensive to have both of my parents here and we just could not afford it. The pricing is all inclusive but it was just a lot.

I like the activities, Food is good, I like the back garden.

They seem nice. I don't think they have memory care either. And I don't see photos on the website. [Removed] did some work for them once and didn't like the size of the units.

I have been asked to do a review. I was asked do I need help. No I do not. My friends let them staff manager to help them. I can say its not the same. Anymore. The food is horrible we eat the same thing oven and oven. The night meal is sandwich soup only. It's not quite. Construction night and day. I would move but can't afford much. I would not recommend it now. We really Mrs. Wilma, and this younger manger [name removed] is not nice, makes to many rules.

Positives: the head of the organization is friendly. The price is reasonable. The building and amenities are nice. Negatives: I never once came in there and saw the staff interacting with the residents. I only ever saw them sitting around staring at their phones. They have no ability to handle the more “difficult “ cases. They would rather send a resident to the hospital than have the patience to deal with a resident’s outbursts. Their communication with family members is poor. Instead of informing family members that they don’t want to, nor have the patience for, dealing with highly mobile residents, they make excuses to ensure they get the maximum amount of money before forcing family to remove the resident from their establishment.

I would say that the Salesperson [name removed] is very friendly and does an exceptional job. The only thing is that the community feels like a bait and switch. Once you're in, the price just keeps going up.I personally wouldn't recommend to others. The bullying from [name removed], the Director, alone is enough to say no.
