I visited New Forest Estates by myself prior to taking my mom to visit. I was very pleased with the information I was given initially because it allowed me to determine whether or not this facility would be affordable for my mom. The executive director and sales person in training were very warm and receptive to all my concerns and answered all my questions. I was extremely impressed with the interactions I witnessed between the executive director, the sales person in training and other staff/employees and the residents we encountered during my tour. The residents were addressed by their name and some even hugged my "tour guides" along the way. It was apparent that the residents were happy and well cared for. It made my decision to place my mom there a little easier upon experiencing this type of atmosphere. I have no doubt that once my mom has moved in, any concerns we may have will be promptly addressed and every effort will be made to make her living arrangement there enjoyable. It was evident that the executive director and sales person in training love their jobs by the compassion and caring they showed their residents. How lucky can we be?

Hello and good morning! I had the opportunity to visit Newforest Estates last week. I enjoyed my visit with [name removed], who showed me the apartments, and then took me on a tour of the residence. It is a quiet location with a pool, serene garden in the center to sit and enjoy nature. The residence use to be a hotel, I have heard, therefore, it feels like you are on vacation in a quiet neighborhood. The staff were pleasant and because I was there at lunch time, the residents were having great smelling lunch. The area is gated to be secure and monitored. They change out the carpets and clean the apartments each time an apartment becomes available. This location is good in that it is closer to the VA than my dad’s house which is by Ingram Mall.

I provide Dental Services to numerous Senior Residential homes throughout San Antonio, TX and I would definitely recommend New Forest Estates as one of the best Senior Living homes! Their staff is attentive, always friendly, and they are compassionate about their residents getting top-quality care! Many of the residents that I have seen over the years have always stated how safe and comfortable they feel at New Forest. They express their love for Executive Director, [Name removed], who has a passion for making his residents feel special and receive the best care! This "hidden gem" is a wonderful place to be, and I am confident in referring family's loved ones to New Forest Estates!

My mom lives here and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The rooms are smaller but she doesn't stay in their much. They always had a good ratio of staff to patients. Their new management is awesome and we receive weekly email updates. The food is home cooked and they feed guests for free. The staffing is ratio is the lowest I've ever heard of, about 3-4 to 1. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the new places, but the staff will love your parent. That is really what is important after all.

Very nice facility. Kitchen is central so aroma infiltrates the hallways and facility! Staff was very helpful and interaction with residents was pleasant. Rooms were sufficient and the facility itself is smaller (more intimate). Hallways are wide and brightly lit, had a very homey feel to it. Nice and very convenient to us living in Schertz!

Excellent care from every staff member! The team takes time out to address each resident and provides them with the level of care that is needed. I would definitely recommend NewForest Estates to family and friends.

He is an excellent leader, he attends resident meetings and getting things done in a timely matter! He has the gift of making people feel good about themselves and makes this place feel like home. His communication with the residents is ideal and appreciated.

Hi my name is [Removed]. I was looking for a place for both of my parents. After setting up an appointment with [Removed] to tour the facility and check out all the enmities the place had to offer. I knew immediately this was the right place for mom and dad. [Removed] is very friendly and professional. But most of all he showed a true likening to the residents and there needs. Also he is very engaging with all the residents. And that goes for all the staff here. As for the buildings and units, they are not brand new. But well kept and maintained. They offer a lot of activities for the folks to choose from, meals are very good. Not only do I think it’s a good fit for mom and dad but it also meets there budget. I would highly recommend this place. I live in fl. But I feel real assured this place will take care of my parents and look out for they’re best interests. I haven’t met all the staff here but [Removed] (front office), [Removed] ( medical staff), [Removed] ( head chef ) just too name a few, all great employees and people. I’m sure mom and dad are going to be Happy here. Sincerely [Removed]??

This place is doing very well with caring for my Mother-in-law. She seems to like it and is quite happy. The food can be a hit or miss; sometimes things are really good and sometimes it can be left out a little too long. It’s never been horrible, but it’s a cafeteria type environment. They do have a variety of things that you can choose from, though. The facility will take trips to various shopping locations and they’ll have groups come in during the holidays (like choirs and girl scouts) to entertain and visit. There’s a decent variety to keep everyone entertained. Overall, it’s a decent facility and she seems to be happy.

This place is awesome. Activity director is professional. Staff are very helpful compassionate and friendly.

My patient gets the best care here at this ALF. The staff did a fabulous job supporting the family and my patient through the transition period from living at home to moving to a new surroundings. Will definitely recommend this facility to families in the future for their loved ones.

This community is awesome. It feels like a home. The smaller number of units makes its so cozy. I love having the kitchen, in the “heart” of the building. The activities are always engaging! This would be the first place I would send a “loved one” to check out!
