We chose Palmer Hills because of the value for the money, it was half of some others that we looked into. The apartment sizes here are great for what she needs. I do not think they have the services that my mom is needing, I think she is needing some more care. It is an older facility that is not super updated, but we have been happy with it. I would recommend them for more independent individuals.

The community is neat and clean and the staff is great and very friendly. The food variety and taste could be better. I like to see more seasoning. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience

Overall, they're very friendly here. They seem helpful. I've only been here a few months. The apartment is fairly nice, but not a lot of detail. It's just there, like land. They're supposed to clean the bathrooms and kitchens once a week, but I've been lucky if they come every other week. I don't participate in too many activities, but they're okay. Mostly because I'm not interested. I'm active enough as it is.

We chose Maple Downs at the time because it had the first opening available. My aunt has a 1 bedroom and it is big enough for her, she needs more care so it's tight with a caregiver in here. It is a very beautiful place, I think the social activities would appeal to most people. They have recently stopped serving breakfast for the residents. I would recommend to others who are looking.

Our loved one enjoys the fact that in the building they offer therapy, and that the PA comes there which is convenient. We really like the location, but they could make a lot of improvements with meals. All of the staff members have been great, we love them they work well with everyone with their individuals needs which can be a tall task. It is a clean environment and they did an excellent job during the covid pandemic.

Our family had an in person tour experience and it was great. We were able to see many different rooms, they were all well kept and no fowl smells. We actually preferred the people here as far as the administrative staff team then the community our loved one is out now, but the location was not going to work for us.

I had initially referred others to the community. I feel this was a great place for my loved one. [name removed] was helpful, and kind, and nice. The rooms are nice. The community is clean. Overall the way it is structed to live it is good. We had to pay for three months initially. I signed a document that I would be moving my loved one. We realized my loved one wasn't going to be doing independent living for a long time. Our loved one fell in March and my loved one had to leave the community after this. I had my loved one's items moved out in early April. Sheila didn't refund my loved one's money for the month of April and kept saying this was their policy. This left a sour taste in my mouth. Had this not happened, I would be recommending them still.

Our loved one is not the biggest fan of the food, but that is because they aren't wanting to eat healthy. The activities are opening back up, and we do think the value for cost is good. We would recommend the Valencia Common's to others.

We did a virtual tour with the community. The tour was ok, I don't really like virtual tours. It was informative but didn't fit our needs.

overall i am very satisfied with this community, the staff is kind and friendly. Communication is good between the staff and our family. They keep us well informed and up to date. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Maple Downs because the facility is more attractive than some others that we saw and it has nice grounds outside and places for residents to walk. The overall experience of it was just better. My mother is in a studio and it is efficient for what she needs. The only issue we had is we moved in during covid so we did not get a very good introduction. I suggest they have residents who currently live there who can be mentors to the new people moving in to help them navigate. I would recommend to others looking.

We chose Crystal View Lodge because when we toured my mom was immediately taken with the apartment itself. She is in a 1 bedroom apartment and It is a good size, she is very happy with it. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

What really stood out to us was the friendliness of the staff members. We have seen a few of the rooms they provide for the residents and they would be about a four out of five. Due to the restrictions the activities are still pretty limited.

The staff overall is very caring, and they go out of their way to try and make the residents happy and comfortable. If there are any issues, they certainly try to resolve them. The food looks very good. The place is clean, and they make an effort to keep surfaces clean. Because of Covid, they haven't been doing some of the activities. But as far as I know, the residents have all been vaccinated now, and they're getting back to activities. It looks like they have a full calendar of things to do, and a bus to take the residents on outings. So there's plenty to do if they want to join in. I would definitely recommend The Manor at Woodside.

We chose Willow Gardens at the time because of the price, but it does keep going up so that is an issue. I think a lot of the staff has changed since he moved in. The food has no flavor and they need to offer more variety, that is her main complainant. I do think that they should offer some care to hire in to help and not put so much stress on the family. Based on our experience I would recommend to others looking.

Beautiful community. Too pricey for my father. Lot of fees. Lots of happy seniors.

There's a variety of people living here. If your loved one needs any type of help getting dressed or anything like that, this is not the place for it. If you need assisted living, you need to go elsewhere. Since this is independent living, there are no nurses on duty. Because of that, they did not shut down during Coronavirus. It's good for independent living, it just depends on what your needs are. They give you a medical alert button, and they lock the doors around 7:30 pm with a key to get in if you need to after hours. The staff have had some turnover. It seems like as soon as you get used to one person, another one comes along. The manager can be very particular and can rub people the wrong way at times. She does send out an email once a month that lets you know about activities going on, if they're spraying for bugs, or cleaning carpets. So she does stay in touch with me and my loved one. My loved one really likes it here, especially the other residents. There hasn't been anybody that she dislikes, and she really likes her next door neighbor and her dog. She did not know a soul when she moved here from out of state, which is a scary situation for anybody to be in. And she's done so well here. It's a very nice facility, and they maintain it well. The food has improved since she moved in. They could be offering more activities though.

Someone asked me yesterday about The Lodge, and I told them to check it out, especially for the money. We looked around, and the amount we're paying is on the lower end of senior care in Connecticut. So I feel it's a good value for the cost. They even have free cable and wifi here, which we couldn't believe. They just changed ownership in the last few weeks from Holiday to Atria. They've kept the same staff on, and they're going through training now. They sent a letter out to the residents letting them know of the changes. So we'll see. With new management there's gotta be changes at some point. So far my loved one has liked it here. They keep the place clean. The staff are very friendly. They always ask about her if they haven't seen her recently. My loved one doesn't participate in the activities, but they were definitely offering them pre-Covid, and they would take the residents on outings on the bus. I believe they're still taking individuals to doctor appointments on the bus.

My loved one was only there for a short amount for a stay. It was clean. The staff seemed to be caring and genuine. The food was limited due to the pandemic. The food wasn't that great, what I tasted at least.
