My dear friend lived here for less than two months but he received amazing support from the entire staff! The only reason he did not remain a resident was because he needed additional care after he went to the hospital. But even when he was in the hospital and it was a very difficult time for him they continued to do everything they could to help and support him. Even sent little treats to him while he was in the hospital:) As his friend And Power of Attorney I went almost every day to visit him and interacted with the manager, sales manager and front desk staff multiple times a week. They were always very compassionate and engaging. They went out of there way for him to feel safe and cared for the entire time! The lovely caregiver ( [name removed]) that has been working with this community was absolutely top notch! I highly recommend her if someone needs additional care as a resident. If I could I would give them more than 5 stars! Exceptional group of people who really care!

The grounds are beautiful and the consistent staff are amazing and they keep my loved one really safe. The safety itself is outstanding. They have activities like card games, bingo, arts and crafts, outings, parties, church groups that come in for church or bible study. If you want to be active there there is something to do.

It is a nice community for my loved one. The staff work well with the residents. The food could be improved by allowing more special dietary restrictions available for the residents. Some of the activities that are available are puzzles, games, social hour, and more for the residents to choose from. All the residents are happy here. I would highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

I really enjoy everything about Essex House, I am very happy overall. The staff are very supportive, helpful, kind and I feel safe here. The meals are really good, I enjoy the flexibility of being able to eat in the dining room or staying in the apartment. I love the view out of my apartment. This community has given me a sense of independence again.

More of independent living setup and we were looking for assisted living needs.

The staff seem to genuinely care about the residents at this community and the safety and happiness of the residents. It will be better when they are able to take them out on activities, however for now they have things like Bingo, wii bowling, bean bag toss, dominoes and more for the residents to do to keep busy. The staff are terrific with the residents. They have a work out class also however, it would be better if it was more often.

we toured Court at Brooklin and I was very impressed. we chose another community that was a bit more hands on and offered more assistance than Court at Brooklin.

My brother got locked out of his apartment and [name removed] interrupted her Friday night movies to assist him in re-orienting himself and getting settled back in his apartment. He may not be able to tell her how much he appreciates having caring people around him, but I certainly can.

Thank you for all you do for my dad to make his home happy and fun and safe. I appreciate you very much.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was outstanding, but at the time it was just not what we were needing.

The community is fabulous. The meals can be bland due to cooking for all the residents. The community will allow you to bring your own spices with you to spice up your meals. There are so many activities for the residents to choose from. Wii bowling, walks, outings, games, movie night, and more are some of the activities available. I can't imagine a better place to live. The money I spend is worth every penny. I feel safe here, and the staff will check on the residents if they don't see them. They allow cats and dogs in the community.

We love it. The staff really care. The community members all really care about each other as well. One of her neighbors sees her coming and opens the outside door for her so she doesn't have to get her key out. They come and find her if she hasn't shown up. She sits with several people at dinner, and they joke and laugh and talk, and genuinely care about each other. That's one thing that really stands out to me, and something she really likes about the community. The apartment is great as well. It was completely redone before she moved in, new flooring, etc.

This is a nice community to go to for you or your loved one. This is a nice place.

Everyone at this community is friendly and the meals are very good. The halls are very clean and the staff take good care of everyone. If you ask for extra help they step up and are available for anything that is needed. They are very conscientious and helpful with the residents needs. They have activities like going to the casino and more for the residents. Every morning my loved one goes down and they chat. They have puzzles, a library and card games. There is also an attendant who does the puzzle with all of the residents together in the newspaper.

This community was too expensive. It was nice but I was not able to get into it due to the amount of how much it would have been to get in. This was my first choice and it was very nice and great amenities. However, it was just too expensive.

It's a very nice community. The price is very reasonable, and that was one of the reasons we chose them. The food is good, but the meals take a long time. You pretty much have to be there at 11:30 to get a table before they start serving at noon. They take orders for drinks and serve salads. Then they serve the main course, and then dessert. So the entire meal process takes about an hour and a half. But my loved one seems to enjoy living there overall.

Elm Park is a very nice place. it seems very friendly and homey. a lot of the residents interact and are friends with one another. they currently have activities like bingo and bible studio, and are working toward incorporating more outings once Covid protocols are lifted.

I chose Redwood Retirement because of the great value for the money. The apartment sizes here vary and the price varies as well depending on the size that you get, but I think it is fair for what is offered. The meals are good and there is a chef on site that prepares them. I think the facility is well managed and I would recommend them to others looking.

My mom loves it here! Especially her room that has cathedral ceilings and a balcony. There is supposed to be a housekeeper coming in once a week, but that has not been happening due to their staffing retention. The food is good, but the portions could be bigger as my loved one does have to ask for seconds. In regards to the staff; I did notice when touring, everyone was overly friendly and welcoming. But now that my mom has moved in, that vibe has changed with the people in the front office. When I walk in, I don't get greeted anymore. Moving into a community can be an overwhelming transition, so I do think that the staff should do a better job of making the residents feel at home. They should introduce the new residents who may not be as extroverted, my mom stayed in her room for a few weeks because of this. The first few weeks in a new community come with a lot of questions and confusion. I understand that there is information provided in pamphlets and paperwork, but when you're elderly, taking the time to read, comprehend and remember pages of information can be difficult. I do think the staff should up their customer service by making it a priority to show the residents around and personally introduce them to the other staff members (the chef, beautician, housekeeper, etc), as well as providing more emphasis on small details like when to be ready for the shuttle. Overall, they should be more patient with the elderly and with explaining things, as it can be a lot to take in.

This was a very good place for my friend and it felt safe for them. The food and people were loved by my friend. The only downfall for us was the fact that we had to paid for the following month after our friend died and this wasn't explained to us that we would have to pay for that month.
