Staff were friendly and meant well. However they were under staffed for our needs. Response was sometimes slow.

Staff was friendly, got good feel for the personal attention. Rooms looked run down and small.

Overall they do a very good job here, although we did run into some issues with specific care needs. It is a very nice looking facility, and it is well kept and clean. The staff have all been friendly and professional, and overall the care they provide is good. One thing to be aware of, which was the source of a lot of frustration for me, is that while they have nurses on staff there are many medical services they are not allowed to perform. It wasn't made very clear to me that they would not be able to perform this service, and it took 3 months of receiving late night emergency calls I had to personally handle before they were able to contract someone to come in and perform this service.

It was being remodeled at the time but the apartmetns were really small. The lady was very persistant but I just didn't like the place.

Beautiful facility and seems to be pretty nice for the assisted living folks. For the memory care folks however, the staffing is insufficient. 2-3 staff people for 16 residents isn't enough. Staff members need to take care of individual needs...and sometimes can't adequatly handle watching everyone....I have seen several occasions where memory care residents don't have a staff person nearby....which can be dangerous. Keystone also has had a lot of turnover the past 2 years - both with management and care takers. I think the majority of the caretakers and nurses are good.....there's just not enough of them. Food at Keystone is very good. Cost has risen significantly in the past year however.

They were okay if you were just assisted living but once you got to their memory care unit it was just not the place to be. I could recommend their assisted living, that was fabulous, but their memory care was a really bad experience. They just weren't getting the care they needed and we wondered why people came and went so quickly so I think a lot of people weren't happy with it. When you don't need one on one care and you're more independent, it's great, they have lots of activities, but when you need care it's really not where you want to be. I did voice my concerns and they kind of blew me off saying that I needed to hire someone to take care of her, but why pay someone to come in to do what I'm paying them to do?

Initially, it would have been a 5 out of 5, but now it's a 3 out of 5. The day staff all goes home at the end of the day, and the night staff is only 2 people caring for 105 residents. They're trying to add staff but I'm sleeping in my father's room until things improve in case of a fall or other problem It seems like, outside of the fact that there's not enough staff there at night in case of a fall or a med alert. He's in their new memory care area (they've only had it for 5 months, and they're tweaking it) Activities: They've got 'em every day, and it's wonderful.

We feel like they were able to market Sunrise really well. We had done a lot of research before hand and really thought this was a great choice. Our first and second impression was great. But then the third impression started being not as great by our fourth impression we were starting to wonder if we had made the right choice. It just seems like when they market it they told us we will do this and that, but when it comes down to it none of that stuff was done. It seemed like there was a big lack of communication. We have addressed some issues and it seems like they wanted to address them as well but we will find out if anything changes

All private pay and starting rates are $3060 for studio per month.

Good services and can accommodate 2 person/mechanical lift. Straight forward pricing (once it's set) and very open to discussing financing options. Resources for additional care (don't usually work w/Park Nicolette nursing) and legal/financial advice. Mentioned that catheter would be changed and cared for more often. No strange smells, but seems dingy for such a new location - even in remodeled areas. Have to purchase or rent a mechanical lift. Apt. very small even w/two bathrooms. Seems designed to keep residents out of their apt. and socializing with others.

Toured. Liked the feel, very homey. Urine smells turned some family members off. Main reason we wouldn't consider is totally private pay.

Very nice space and location. Apartments are small; even 2 bdrm are less than 700 square feet.

Clean and welcoming. Rooms well maintained. Dr and labs come into facility Variety of activities Very few residents seen - other than memory care. Found hallways confusing to navigate. 3 levels vs 1. Few nurses/staff seen. Those who were seen did not take initiative to say hi. Few made eye contact. Director did not stop to say hi and be introduced. Buzzed past with barely acknowledgement of visitor. Menu not as healthy as I would like. Estimate was not given, although numbers were reviewed. It's ala carte so I was left to figure out what I thought would be the estimate.

Loved the commons area, loved the pets allowed. Disappointed with how small the apartments are.

Expensive and small. Studio 300sf $3300/mth, Companion Suite $2900, 1BR $5000. $1200 nonrefundable move-in fee. No MA/Elderly Waiver.

Mom lived there for 2.5 weeks before she had a bad fall and subsequently now resides in a nursing home. Despite this unfortunate episode, mom was still obligated to pay nearly $[removed] in application fees and rent (prorated Nov, all of Dec, and prorated January because her sudden relocation to the nursing home triggered a 14 day move out notice. This is my only complaint about dealing with Hawthorne Woods. No financial exceptions were made despite this being unforeseen accident and the necessity to relocate her to a nursing home after only residing at Hawthorne Woods for only 2.5 weeks.

The meals and dining service is very inconsistent - there is a real lack of attention to detail to the residents especially our loved ones dietary restrictions. They are pet friendly community, and we do like all the space they have for families to come and visit.
