Oaks Senior Living

We're very pleased with this community so far! One thing in particular that they do very well is any sort of event where they get the families involved, like their Thanksgiving dinner, or holiday celebrations. They really go all out! It's a great looking place, and they always keep it very clean. The employees are friendly and caring, and they provide the residents with plenty of things to do.

We looked into this community when we were looking into options for our loved one. This was a nice enough looking facility, it was well kept and clean, and the staff seemed friendly. I felt like the decor here was a bit old fashioned looking and out of date. We decided Mom was not at the level where she would need assisted living care, so this was not one of the options we considered in the end.

My Mom has adjusted well to Northake Gardens. While she always maintained a desire to live independently at her home she understands why this is no longer possible and the staff and facilities at Northlake are a big reason for her acceptance.

I looked at this place when I was searching for senior housing. It looked nice enough, but it was also very expensive. I also got the feeling that it the staff and residents were all a bit stuck-up. It wasn't for me.

It is fine, the people are nice. They are doing what they are supposed to. My mother and father both live there, and they are in memory care together. They have a very large room. From my experiences looking at other facilities, it is very difficult to find places that accommodate a husband and wife. They have two full beds and a dresser and a love seat. Right outside their room is the dining room. I have been very pleased with the general care that they have gotten.They get good basic care, and the staff is very respectful of our requests. They handle any issues very quickly. Both of my parents look well. Their skin looks well. The food is very healthy. My entire family recently visited for the first time and they all said that they thought Ashley River Plantation was an excellent facility. I can't say enough positive about the staff who treat my parents as if they were their own parents.

I walk in to Dogwood Forest and it never smells soiled. There is always someone walking around cleaning or doing something. There is always something going on there. That's one of the reasons I liked it. There is a lot of staff that always seems to be on hand and always smiling. I checked around several places and Dogwood Forest is not on the highest end, price-wise, but it's not on the lowest end either. For how long they've been in business and who they have on the staff I think it's a really good value. There have been small things like times where there has needed to be follow up, an appointment, a lab result or something and it falls through the cracks. It's really only been once or twice and I understand these things happen. It's not been a severe problem. There is a board that tells you what's going on for the day. The family gets a monthly activities calender mailed to them and so do the residents. They have anything from bible study to scrabble to exercise. They try to cater to everyone and everything. There is a little bit of something for everyone. It's like an extension of an old southern home with a porch and rocking chairs. The receptionist is so personable. She knows all the residents and she knows me. It's a well oiled machine. When I saw it I felt like we belonged there.

That was very small, but it was nice. I believe it had a fixed price strucutre but it was more expensive. One of the good things we discovered was that there are two types of licenses for these facilities in the state of Georgia and asissted living/memory care is the highest license. I forget the exact term they use but this did not have the right kind of license when we looked.

VERY nice staff, and would like to tour facility again when I have more time. I especially liked the one bedroom we saw; it was a little overwhelming as this is the first facility I actually looked at where residents were there-the first one I toured was not yet open.

I was impressed by the facility and the staff, but it was quite a distance from our home.

I think they do a great job. Where they could improve is when certain leaders are not there, like the team leads or whatever they call them, they could have more consistency. That's the only thing I can think of but I do think they're doing a great job and I'm very happy for my dad to be there. They have music and bingo and they do word games.

I had a nice tour when I was there. It's new but it's about a 50 minute drive from my house so it was a little to far away. I needed to find something closer.

This is my [removed] I think they have a very good activities program and they're very conscious of what stimulates an elderly person. One thing that concerned me more is safety issues. My mom fractured her him. I've seen several other people with that same situation. She went to the hospital and the first night she was back she fell again. I've had to hire somebody to be in her room at night. When she broke her hip she was in the dining room and she had parked her walker outside because there wasn't enough room. That's my only issue but it's significant. As far as the activites program, Sweetgrass is the best in the area. They have outings, song fests, picnics, cookouts. They really try to help the people feel a part of the community.

Gracemont was a very good community. The staff was great they were very friendly and helpful. They were really nice and everything just seemed to be really good at this community. The only thing I worry about is at these communities it seems like everything is good when you tour them but won’t really know how they are until you have someone living there.

Memory care unit was full. Common are in Memory Care was small and cramped. Staff was well informed and had a good understanding of the business.

Cost for memory care $4,300. great activities, pleasant atmosphere, doesn't smell like old people

The memory care unit is just the right size for my mother. All of the staff is very friendly and have the residents well being at heart. Being a first time user of a memory care community my mother has been a little slow to fit in. However she seems to be doing better with each visit. I would recommend Marsh View to anyone that needs their service.

Everyone speaks highly of this place. Just drawn to it. Assisted living and nursing home. 2800 mo plus add ons. 1800 with room mate

The community was very well organized yet homey. Everything about it was real and casual. Great energy and smiles on everyones faces.

Very nice lady. Frequent outings and dinner. price okay. Sixty six residents. Waiting for brochure.
