I feel communication should be better to residents' families. Care givers do not show respect for residents. The kitchen food quality needs standards and expectations improved. Management expectations either need improved or better communicate to staff. Staffing stability needs improvement. I do want to commend [name removed] for the excellent job he does. He shows respect and concern for all the residents. I am somewhat disappointed with the food service and overall management. I feel the staff is lacking in respect and concern for all the residents. If a higher level of care is needed, I would reserve recommend it to others. I was told the villa was working toward approval for ADA and MEDICAID but have not been informed of any progress.

The overall experience was great in the beginning but as time went on not so much. The place overall is clean but they don't clean the rooms very well. They are friendly if you can get a hold of them. Over all this is just not the place for my Father in law so we are moving him. The cheaper rent is not always the best place.

More staff, a better online pharmacy (currently Synchrony). They're falling apart. Staff quitting and now more short staffed.

Not really a good fit for my mother. We left to go to another facility because she really required more care. I think Cherry Laurel offers a lot of great activities for older folks that do not need assistance with daily care. They were not able to assist my mother with a fall and were not as easy as Tapestry with mealtime schedules being pretty rigid.

You really need to check on the staff that they are doing what you pay for . Also the billing is advertised as individual but they don't tell you what services they are billing on the bill. Ways to improve the food - More consistency, some times it is good sometimes not . It's hard for me to judge my loved one is a terribly picky eater though.

At the beginning everything was great, but when the staff was working days without time off and another group of residents came in due to their building being flooded things changed drastically. My in laws felt the current residents were being pushed aside to accommodate the new group. Then there was a plumbing problem in my in laws room which took 3-4 weeks to correct. Their toilet could not be flushed and that was unacceptable.

Brentwood has slacked on their Staffing which means my parent doesn't get the attention to detail she deserves.. it's not as clean as it used to be. It could be better. However the staff that's still there they do an amazing job. I would like for them to add staff back especially to the memory card unit. I don't know who cut the cna hours, but that's my concern. They just need more help to give the residents what they need.

I am happy with the care my father is receiving; however, there have been many discrepancies between the price I agreed to pay and what he has been charged. There have also been issues with what services and supplies my dad should be receiving. It has been a continual struggle to be in agreement with the facility. After 3 months at Brookdale we are still not being charged the correct amount for rent.

Administration talk a good talk but never follow through. [name removed] has been helpful. Always short staffed or don't hire. Everyone works a few days or weeks and leaves to go to another assisted living facility usually in same proximity. I know this is a lesser LOC but should be a better place. Administrator never leaves his office except for meeting.

They could improve on their staffing and with those improvements we would recommend the community to other families. The place was clean and had activities for those that could do them.

My view is that the staff is competent, caring and helpful, while the common area and facilities are a bit worn, although not to the extent that I would discourage others from considering Celebration Villa. Mom does feel that the food is too bland and could use more flavor.

Quality of care - If i could rate a zero i would. I would not trust them with medication management ever. Response time also to long once the call light is pushed. ( perhaps aides overworked?) Most of the aides were great with my mom) However, upper nursing management is more of a problem. We did move my mom out in March due to some issues with care.

We have had issues with the nursing staff not bring able to put in for medicines and refills. Telling us we needed to go buy items for my family member. My family member has fallen 4 times since in the facility. The last time he was released from the hospital to the therapy center, we came back to finding mold all over his complete room. Thankfully he was still in rehab and only stayed in another room for 2 weeks before they moved him back to the treated room. The office still have not reimbursed us for food, items that had to be throw away, furniture is still molding and items have never been treated for mold. Overall not pleased in different areas.

I think it's a good value especially since they accept Medicaid . I feel the place could be cleaner, dirty carpets, walls scuffed but the friendliness of the staff is great.

I would say their biggest issue was being understaffed.

I would encourage family members to stay vigilant with ensuring their loved ones are well taken care of once placed in the appropriate facility for them and ask questions on staff retention, quality of life, direction of the facility and its priorities. All those factor in to the experience. They also allowed individuals to visit her repeatedly without contacting me first. One time resulting in a visitor upsetting her that she fell from her wheelchair and broke her hip. No regular person at the front desk as well.

My feelings are mixed because when we first got my grandmother in there everything was running semi smoothly. But as my family and I kept hitting roadblock after roadblock with getting the finances in order to keep paying them, it seemed the less pleased my grandmother was with the place.

The staff at Brookdale Winter Haven was communicative. The housekeeping was virtually nonexistent. About the only activity was bingo. The meal times were at ridiculous hours and took a long time to get a diabetic menu, then there were extra charges. I do not recommend Brookdale Winter Haven to others.

My loved one is currently a resident at Celebration Villa of Berwick and the overall experience has been good. The staff are all friendly, helpful and well meaning. At least, they have been when I have visited. Based on our experience, I would recommend Celebration Villa of Berwick to others.

Big issues with the process of getting their meds. Dad wound up having to go to the hospital because they were not checking his diabetes. Head nurse was nice to Dad. Immediate staff not management was also nice. There were bedbugs in his apartment, and they never informed anyone. We had to throw out all of Dad's stuff. After I brought it to their attention, the new manager mentioned that they had such problems in the past. Dad did not like the meals at all mostly because of the repetition and flavor. Breakfast was a sore spot for Dad, As every time he asked for something they never had it. I pretty much had to go and fight with them to make them understand that they needed to check his blood levels at least twice a day. After that they were more on the ball. Had a problem also with getting his clothes washed and cleaning of his apartment. It got to the point that there was mold in his toilet. We would put his clothes out to be washed but then he would never get it back. The new manager said they were having quite a problem, with having the right kind of candidates for hire. Dad passed away [date removed] after he arrived at Brookdale. There were a lot of growing pains and I was constantly having to go over there. The assistant manager is horrible, but the rest of the staff was nice to Dad.
