I met with [name removed] and was very impressed with this location. It was clean and neat and yielded a family atmosphere. The rooms are ideal for my uncle. The units are spacious. If there was a drawback here, it would be the transportation they provide is quite limited. And to utilize additional services outside of what they offer is $45 per trip which is expensive. However, it is at the top of our listing right now.

This place is stunning, top-notch. Excellentllent activities and food service. Very well appointed. It all comes at a price, but if you can afford it, it seems like one of the best you can get. Memory center area was a bit smaller than you'd hope for though.

This is a wonderful community. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with [name removed]. She provided us multiple options and we were more than impressed with the two bedroom cottage we were shown. This may be the community we choose.

My mom has lived at Arbor Terrace since June, 2018. It was a very difficult decision to move her into an assisted living but, in spite of significant in home care, it became obvious that she needed more supervision and more opportunity for socialization. I had visited and spoken with representatives from all the local assisted living centers in the area and decided on Arbor Terrace. We have been very happy with our decision as is my mom. She is more active physically and socially. The staff is very supportive of her and me. There has also been very little turn over in staff, which is great! I would recommend Arbor Terrace.

My father and his wife toured a total of five assisted living facilities within a certain price range, and BY FAR the best was Atria! My 8-year-old son even asked if he could move in, because "it would be like living in a fancy hotel!" They loved the European look of the place, the beautiful courtyard with fountain that looks straight out of Rome, the long, pleasant, screened veranda with fans overhead, the beautiful, large pool with gentle ramp, the amazing 1st run movie theater with stadium seating and surround sound, the huge auditorium, the tease of hors d'oervres at Happy Hour, and the ability to get group tickets to theater events and more. Plus food, TV, phone, Internet, room cleaning, laundry - it's all-inclusive! I loved that 3/4 of the place is Independent Living, and only 1/4 is Assisted Living, so that gives my family access to younger, vibrant potential friends, and a reason to keep trying and not just sit in a chair in the apartment all day. I love the beautiful, well-equipped Physical Therapy suite just down the hall, which I hope will help my dad improve his mobility. I love the large yoga studio which I hope will attract my dad's wife's interest. I love how dog-friendly they are at Atria, and that they even have a "Yappy Hour" for the dogs! And while we don't need it yet, I love the beautiful Memory Care facility - a miniature version of the main facility, with a pretty internal courtyard and a "square" design, with the hallway around the edges so that if someone wants to wander, they feel like they are going far without ever leaving. It was sunny and beautiful inside, with a large exercise / activity room, and even an open cooking kitchen where they do hands on cooking activities with residents. My son was an instant hit in the Memory Care facility, and he was not turned off in any way - no unpleasant smells here! He loved giving hugs and kisses, and getting them. The residents were clean and happy. I know we would enjoy visiting if it were needed. I could not say the same of other facilities. The only drawbacks at Atria are that the Assisted Living folks can't use the same dining facility as the Independent Living folks, so if they did make friends, they have only the Bistro (which is also really nice, forgot to mention that) as a common place to eat together. Another drawback is likely temporary - being only a year old, the facility is not fully populated and it is very large, so it feels a bit empty at the moment, but should feel less so after awhile. My biggest complaint thus far is that the food isn't nutritionally optimal for seniors in any way, and the wait time on lunch was completely unacceptable. I went nearly 20 minutes with an empty water glass, and no one appeared to care. The Monte Cristo sandwich "special" was nothing more than dryish French Toast (fried) with sandwich meat (cured meats are high in salt and encourage vascular swelling, a bad thing for anyone with atherosclerosis, memory issues, amd more) and there wasn't a dark, leafy green to be seen (kale, spinach, and collards are high in the very important nutrient, folate, which can reverse atherosclerosis.) The food did not match the scenery - beautiful place, really boring, uninspired food. I hope that they will improve on this front, then this place would be the best there is, no question. Overall, we couldn't be more excited, which is something I never thought I would say about such a facility.

Atria of Norwood has been the best decision I could have made. As an independent Senior resident, I continue to make new friends and enjoy all of the activities that are offered. The staff is always courteous, friendly and willing to assist me with any questions or concerns I may have. The food is delicious and I'm so appreciative of all consideration given me from my first inquiry to the present. Just came back from a wonderful afternoon of theater and pleasant ride home. Every day holds lovely opportunities to grow and enjoy life!

We really liked this facility. It is very nice to know that they adhere to Teepa Snow’s philosophy of care. Staff have been trained through teepa’s methods. My son would rank them as one for location (Less than 2 miles from home) and facilutyml. We rank them 1-2 out of 4 and would like to be put on their waiting list

We're very happy with Arbor Terrace in Middletown NJ. The faculty is well maintained, very clean with a very nice dining room. These things are important but what makes the facility special are it's people. The staff are caring people who go out of their way to be helpful. Most importantly they have provided excellent care for my mom. I would highly recommend Arbor for a loved one.

I am an RN and my Dad lived with us for 7 years. It became unsafe for him at home and it was decided that he had to be placed in a memory care facility due to Dementia. It was the hardest decision my family had to make. Harbor Chase provided a unit that we had not encounter- the SOUND. This unit was in between ADL and memory care and was perfect for Dad. He was one of the first residents on the Sound, so he pretty much received 1 on 1 attention, which I know will change as more residents come. The CNA's are attentive, competent ,encourage Dad to engage in activities. He is doing so much better there than at home, and most importantly is safe. there is an RN who oversees the staff and has very high expectations of the staff . She is diligent in the hiring. The facility has the feel of a 5 star hotel, with a chef, restaurant, bar, gym, salon, reading area, paint studio, fabulous game room and many outside areas for the residents and their families to visit. Very grateful for this find.

Dogwood Forest is a truly top notch facility for Seniors!

Beautiful place with a high quality environment for seniors!

My 88-year old father was a resident at Arbor Terrace at Crabapple for about nine months. He was in independent living with medication management and supportive care from the wellness center that addressed his needs as he was recuperating from a variety of ailments. I cannot say enough good things about AT at Crabapple....there is not ONE person there that I do not like or have had issues with while my father was there. The entire staff is kind, extremely helpful, professional and know what they are doing....there were no "burn outs" like I saw at other facilities. I wish I could write names, but this forum restricts that...but the management is always available and responsive, the front desk ladies are always helpful and kind, the wellness center is beyond fantastic, the program director is a gem.....all the way to the cleaning staff, assistants, etc. The rooms were clean and were kept clean. OH and the first person we met (senior care counselor) went above and beyond helping us get our father into AT at Crabapple. and the maintenance man on site was always amazingly fast and knowledgeable with installing various items, helping us fix a chair in our room, etc. I do not have one regret for choosing AT at Crabapple for my father. There were so many other facilities where I didn't feel good about placing my Dad, but now that we've gone full circle, I can still say that I have no regrets, and we chose wisely. I was dropping off some prescription boxes back today at AT at Crabapple, and was chatting with the executive director and pretty much sharing what I am saying here...and I normally can't "gush" this much about a place or service, as these days, most businesses do not walk the walk and have inconsistent service. AT walked the walk with us, and we are extremely grateful. I couldn't recommend a facility any more than I do with AT....and often do to fellow friends.

It’s a big adjustment for the whole family but Attia has been a godsend. They provide everything my parents need and give comfort to my sister and I knowing that they are safe and well taken care of. The staff is friendly and helpful. Worth every penny spent

Beautiful community with happy staff and residents. I especially enjoyed the heated indoor pool. My mother would love this place and I cannot wait to make this place her home
