The corporate company Benchmark cares little for the needs of the Arbors. The staff is unable to make improvements due to corporate lack of caring and funding. Especially during the Pandemic it had been heart breaking not to have reliable or existence of WiFi and Television for residents. It had become a full time to be an advocate for change. The administrator at the Arbors and many of his leadership team really care and want improvements but are hamstrung from Benchmark corporate. Just shameful corporate greed and lack of compassion from Benchmark.

We had a love one here for a few years we adored the last manger he was very hands on and knew everyone the activity were amazing and she adored them But the staff did not want to care for pepole who needed a lot ofAssistance She was know to be a fall risk she had fallen and been to the hospital 5 times in the last mouth Many times the hospital didn’t even know why she was there We saw staff often on cell phones The last fall did her in so much she could not Return But we wonder did that fall need to happen since she was a know fall risk The first thing The new manager Did was move her self to the back of the Building so she did not have to deal with the Residence and hire mult Levels of management My understanding is she’s left and I hope things got better but Please my love on this now there ate a few others from evens park When we told the staff how much we paid they seem surprised as they certainly were not paid any more to deal with our love for one at the higher level And resented her so much that another resident told us that they weren’t very nice to her

firstly felt more like a home feeling then some of the other places toured.nice refreshments served, loved the blueberry bread!.does not present well,as it seems a little dingy, urine smell in hallway near apartment shown, salesperson said nothing to worry about??. we felt as though she was a little on the aggressive side,a lot of need to make a decision quickly etc.I think she under estimated us ,as we have toured others.close to my sister is why we looked, but along with the smells, and the pressure to sign,we are going to continue to look at other options

we toured last week for our parents,we liked the idea of haverhill due to closeness of family. we had been in once before, and decided to give it a go again.we were told to go around lunch time to see / taste the food, very good.compliments to chef's who prepared a lovely meal,we had our own waitress ([name removed]) she was wonderful.we were waiting for the other shoe to drop and it did. saleswoman can be aggressive (nothing is for free ). we sensed urgency ( think used car sales pitch) we noticed lots of empty apartments, but were told ,"better make a decision quickly or will be gone" ?? building does not present well, lots of odors, dirty feel to it.we have a lot to think about.

My mother-in-law lived there for five years. While she could take care of herself and get to meals on her own all was great. As she started to lose some cognitive ability the care really did not step in as it should have. They did not step up until she had had two falls, the second she never recovered from and had to go to a nursing home. During the five years, as time went on, more and more general managers were replaced. They seemed to be less about the residents and more about filling the rooms and profits. The tone of the place changed and became unfriendly. The management was very nasty to us when we told them she could not come back(after the fall) and did not answer phone calls, ignored us in the halls. We were able to manage moving out her things by the kindness of the staff there. We had to give notice by email (unanswered). I would not recommend sending your loved one there. I would look for some place where your loved one can age in place and where the management respects the family.

First hand experience..residents not bathed on a regular basis,Very little observation of residents especially from 7 pm until morning. Medications not being given as doctors orders state. Pain medication being denied.Non medical staff advising on medications and nursing issues. Residence often go without meals , lack of staff keeps many residents in bed until 11 am or longer. Extreme high turnover of staff, lack of training or state mandated background checks of staff.Continued increase in fees without providing basic services. Nutritional value of food has declined significantly. NO consulting of family doctor when medical issues arise. Transported to hospital with no representative or family notification. No medical records sent with resident including DNR and or living will information.Imagine your loved one with dementia being brought to a hospital unable to communicate. No activities in evening when sundowners is of greatest concern. They are not trained or equipped to handle residents with medical problems beyond early dementia. A beautiful newer facility however they are unable to care properly for residents. We, along with 7+ families are moving our loved ones out.

Since the new owners took over the care has gone down hill. no one is in charge, no one is accountable and the turn over in staff has affected the quality of care. Managers do not have an understanding of the needs of the families and make no effort to reach out to the families except to raise the costs. The prior owners had people in place that were hands on not office sitters. They also chased away all the good aids who knew and understood the residents. The new aids are nice but with such turn over it is hard to be consistent. so many families have pulled their loved ones out for other locations.

We did not have a great experience with Crescent Point. We had a lot of difficulty regarding communication, we never felt like we were kept in the loop and if we didn't live nearby would have felt completely in the dark about how things were going with our loved one. And their a la carte pricing structure meant that the cost of our loved ones memory care skyrocketed, far beyond what we were expecting. We ended up moving to another facility which has been working out much better for us.

My first impression was great! The place is beautiful, clean and everyone was very pleasant and helpful! Shortly after the move I was able to see the flaws and dis function. The staff seems to turn away from extra attention which is dearly needed with the elderly! They ignore there needs and only do what is notably necessary! The laundry situation is a disaster. Cloths, shoes, bedding and personal items are lost or stolen. The cost of the facility is way overpriced for the service! Very disappointed!

If there is a problem it's with the sound level. When we applied and talked with the manager we emphasized the importance of quietness. My mother is almost blind but she has good hearing. There have been good days when it is realatively quiet, but about 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning, the resident upstairs turned the radio up and woke up my mother, and after going to the nurses station they debated it and said that so and so upstairs, has rights to listen to their radio and other residents do not appear to have the right to sleep. There are some uncomfortable idiosyncracies. They have made some accommodations and they have pre-notified my mother about fire drill and give her some warning as there is an alarm that would be incredibly shrill, and they will let her know so she can escape the sound, which would be excrutiating for her. The food is good the waitservice staff has been very accommodating. They do have a lot of activities but she is independent and her eyesight is not very good and the sound is very high on things like movies and musical options. Many of the staff are trying to be accommodating but they can't keep it quiet.

It was a dementia unit. That's the only thing they dealt with. It was smelly and they had dolls and things like that. My aunt isn't on that level. I didn't like that the people were sitting all in one area. I just didn't like it. I didn't like the rooms there. They had furniture in the room already but I didn't like it. I didn't like the carpeting. I didn't like environment in general.

We signed on with them but my mom and dad are having trouble settling in. They told us they would have their laundry done on Saturdays but when I went in on Sunday the laundry was still in the basket, piled high. They were supposed to have a care plan for my mom and they have yet to schedule anything for her. It supposed to be open seating in the dining room but my parents have been asked to move several times which is difficult and humiliating for them. It's either open seating or it's assigned. Unless we're up there and checking on things they're lost to the floor boards. I've put in two calls to the director there and haven't heard back from her. I think their issue is a lack of help. They hire all these young girls and then when the weekend comes they go to the beach or call in sick. They told us it was memory care and when I asked the nurse about it she said we were in the wrong place for memory care. Even their billing is inacurate. They're billing us for meals in my parents room which is not the case. It's not been good.

This is my direct first hand experience; I am not a competitor (yes, I was asked about this). I witnessed a very disturbing interaction with another resident. While at the gym today, a very infirmed man had trouble and was in pain to the point of nearly fainting. I asked if he needed help since he could barely stand even with a walker. I looked around the Ground floor for help, but there was no one. I recommended that he press his emergency pendent, which he did. No one came. After five minutes, still no one came. More time passed. Still no one. I decided to go upstairs to the main desk to say someone needed help in the gym. They said they were aware of the emergency call but could not locate him. I then went downstairs and noticed a woman had finally arrived. However, she was rude, and ignored his request for a wheelchair, and began for forcefully push him backwards on his walker. When he mentioned his frustration about not being found after pushing the pendent, she just responded, "I'm here now." I said she arrived only because of me notifying the front desk, and she again slightly angrily repeated her statement. I was appalled at her attitude, but more importantly, her ignoring his request for a wheelchair, which he clearly needed. I went upstairs to reflect what I witnessed and to complain. I was then introduced to a manager. I said that I would hate to have my 84 year old mother treated this way if she had an emergency.

Yes, too bad management changed. I never see the new manager there. It's been 4 months since management changed. I'm there a lot. I saw the new manager there only once. Prior manager was always there, always friendly. Seems like no one there cares any more. Food recently complained about a lot, hopefully new chef will improve things. Place needs a manager who is hands-on, makes him or herself highly visible and who is ready and able to resolve issues.

I want to second the other reviewer - Evans Park used to be nice and felt like a good community, but now that the management changed it has gone downhill. My parents don't get the services they are supposed to get, and no one answers my calls to address my concerns. Emails are barely responded to, and I am finding it impossible to make a meeting with management. I keep hearing about problems with the food, and there is a high turnover of the staff - the people my parents like have been leaving. I hear there is new staff running the kitchen, so hopefully they can turn things around. This is a pretty expensive place, but the services and feeling that the previous management cared about our family and would be a resource to us when problems arose made it worth it - now I have to think about moving my parents.

My mother moved in July 2015 and we were thrilled! Since then the company has switched management to number crunchers and budget slashers. The quality and amount of food presented to each resident has gone down significantly. Sometimes the best part of a resident’s day may be the meals but as the year has gone by, the meals have not been worth the time or energy. During the day the med techs are rushing because they are understaffed and overwhelmed while at night showers are ignored because the appropriate staff is not there to supervise the less than motivated employees. I am aware of the struggles that Benchmark may have in running a business like this but for the money these seniors deserve better. If you see my mother, please ask her when was the last time she had five servings of fruit and or vegetables offered to her in the same day? Or, when was the last time she left the table feeling full?
