Brookdale

We are very happy with the Brookdale Union Park. The staff are kind and friendly. They have various activities and encourage residents and family to participate. The activity director is wonderful. The food is good, cleanliness is good.

It's early in my wife's time in Brookdale but based on what I saw initially and her comment that she likes it there I would rate a 5. All of the caregiver staff seem to enjoy what they do and it shows by virtue of how the residents appear happy and well cared for. The housekeeping and maintenance staff go above and beyond by keeping the facility clean and bright inside and out. The management team is wonderful. I see them working together well. All in all a very positive experience.

We couldn't be happier with our decision to have my mom move into Brookdale. It has truly been a blessing for our entire family. Since moving in, my mom has absolutely blossomed. She is more active and engaged than she has been in years and has made so many new friends. She loves being able to take the bus and exercise. The staff and caregivers are what truly make this place special. They are highly professional but also incredibly warm, patient, and compassionate. When my mom presses her call button someone responds very promptly. The value for the cost is outstanding especially considering the quality of the care, the meals and the variety of amenities and activities offered. It provides all the comfort and security we wanted for her without the large financial burden. I would recommend Brookdale to any family looking for a caring, active and affordable independent living community for their loved one. It is a five-star experience.

Our mother recently passed and we were looking for a safe, comfortable “home” for our 92 year old father. Brookdale Lexington was not only a convenient solution, but fit the bill for comfort and care. I love when I call my father and he says,”I’m in paradise.” Brookdale Lexington has offered a caring atmosphere for our grieving father. Everyone, the pleasant staff and friendly clients, has made him feel at home. He loves the food and the relaxing dining atmosphere. He enjoys his outside strolls and rocking in the warm sunlight on the front porch. This is not an institution or facility. Brookdale is a home away from home. We are so thankful. It really gives us peace of mind.

My aunt has been supported by compassionate, responsive staff who understand her individual needs. My aunt has positive social experiences everyday and staff ensure that she is connected with others around her in meaningful ways, whether she is playing bingo, listening to music, watching movies, reading, socializing during mealtimes, or having conversations.

To sum up my experience in choosing and having my mom move into Brookdale of Troy, it's been a good experience. It is an older building, but it is clean, welcoming and feels homey. The staff although there is some turnover most are 5 to 20 year employees so it feels like family. They know and treat the residents and their families with respect. Back in October, when mom moved in, food was not good. They have since hired a new cook and are serving afternoon snacks and have a snack bar available 24/7. There is a nurse on duty at all times and there is a resident Dr. We choose to stay with our primary care Dr. They have monthly family events, weekly outings, daily planned activities and lots of shared space to just be with others.

Very friendly and caring staff. Small home like atmosphere. Rooms are big with a separation of living and sleeping areas. Very good food.

It really felt like a family. We got to know her " friends" very well and miss them as we saw them most every day. The care and compassion shown at the end was amazing. Would recommend Brookdale highly!

Caregivers seem to really care about the tenants. Overall staff much improved this past year! A+

Our friend who is really a family member needed to move from the assisted living community she was living in to one with more care. She has dementia and had broken her hip. Brookdale became her new, and for her situation, a much better community. It’s very homey, much smaller and more intimate, and the residents are a wonderful group of people with different needs, but all thriving at Brookdale, our friend included! The staff is amazing, the apartments nice, and the chef makes pretty incredible food. We feel so Blessed to have our [name removed] being so lovingly cared for. Thanks to all the staff for caring for her.

Staff was friendly, professional, & experienced to assist with all patients/residents needs. Dining was 5-star and prepared fresh daily. After looking and visiting several skilled nursing facilities, Brookdale Santa Barbara was the number one choice. Very nice & Always very clean.

My husband is receiving excellent care at Brookdale Potomac for his dementia and diabetes. The staff are extremely professional and genuinely care about the residents. They have an extraordinary range of activities, even in memory care. Including weekly outings to restaurants, parks or museums; pet therapy; musical performances; arts and crafts; exercise classes; gardening; cooking; and ongoing social activities. The rooms and common areas are very spacious. Many medical services are available onsite, including PT, primary care, and dental care. And my husband loves the food. The costs are also lower than many places. I recommend it highly.

Lots of great residents. Easy to find friends if that is what you are looking for. Very friendly staff and great food in the Bistro. I would recommend.

Everybody's really kind and helpful. Felt right at home from the beginning. He's low income so they really worked to find a way that he would be able to afford to be there.

My father passed away at Brookdale. Every member of that staff was kind, courteous, and caring. The compassion they all have is a direct result of [name removed] the director. While I was cleaning out dad's apartment many staff came to me with kind words and heartfelt condolences. They didn't have to do that, that wanted to and that cannot be taught that is leadership. His time a Brookdale was great and he met some good people his own age and I never worried for a minute about his care. 5 stars doesn't do this place justice, there just not enough stars for this place to call home!

When my mom fell and broke her hip my heart shattered. At 91 and living with my family at home to looking to relocate to an Assisted Living facility, my grief was palpable. [name removed] handled my mom’s needs with grace and kindness. She listened to me discuss how mom loves to look at the birds out the window at home and the bird feeder that mom had by the back patio. She helped me to select the perfect room for her looking out onto the beautiful courtyard where there are bird feeders so mom can watch the birds. The aides and nursing staff love my mom and help with her daily needs as she is getting stronger. These people are now new family members and they even love it when we bring our dog, name removed] ([name removed]) to see mom. They even save breakfast sausages for [name removed] when he come to see mom on the weekends!

Brookdale Lexington is a wonderful place. We moved my parents there when they became unable to live at home alone. The staff members are so caring and have been very helpful through many trials. The adminstration does all they can to make sure the care is extraordinary. I would recommend Brookdale Lexington to anyone looking for a great place for their family who cannot live alone.

Mom entered Brookdale in [date removed]. Almost immediately we noticed an improvement in her attitude, participation, getting her medications at the proper times, etc. All of the delicious food, three times a day is doing wonders. She loves her apartment; Brookdale is now her home. She has access to a hairdresser and manicure at Brookdale. Occasionally there are outings for Lunch, a Scenic Drive or shopping. The staff at Brookdale are Professional and extremely helpful with any questions or concerns that I may arise. The Nursing Staff, along with their Consulting Dr and visiting Nurse are top notch. I am so glad that we found Brookdale in Port Orange. I recommend Brookdale to anyone looking for Assisted Living near Port Orange, Fl. My only regret is that we had not investigated Assisted Living a few years earlier.
