In general, the staff are extremely dedicated and good. But there is one big problem on which no progress has been made - that has been going on for a year. The doors are frequently not locked properly, sometimes after the staff leaves!! Apparently because people don't push the handle in all the way. It seems to be a flaw in the doors' design! No progress on this problem.

I am 87 years old, widowed. Lived in Napa since I was 10 (born in Santa Rose, CA). Now need and have a caregiver — laundry, hygiene, special needs). I do not have a computer — used to but gave it up — too many changes, etc. My pet peeve is most businesses assume everyone has a computer so inquires always only give you the option to email. They should also give you the option of phone #. Napa has become quite touristy — beautiful but lost the "homey" feel.

The local management are very good and do as much as they can to please the residents. Food is good. It is supposed to be independent living, but their area few with memory problems and a number of folks with physical problems that are cared for by independent caregivers. The only reason I'm not giving it top rating is because some of the residents have problems mentally and should be in assisted living 24 hours.

The community is always clean. The staff is very friendly and we have never had any issues. They do offer activities for the residents and we do think they are pretty good, however our loved one doesn't often participate. A couple of the provided services like laundry could be a little better. We think the quality of the food is pretty good, however we do think they could take a little more care to accommodating for dietary needs.

The community normally looks good and we have not had any issues with the staff. The community was just painted and they take good care to maintain it well. They do come into my dad's room and clean it once a week. There are always activities available for the residents to participate in. The food is pretty average. Durham Regent is a good value for the price. There is also paid resident parking.
