Know this facility well - have family living here.

Presidential Place is the next best thing to mom's being at home. She has all the comfort and convenience of independent living (including privacy) with none of the work, worry or inconvenience. We couldn't be happier and I, for one, sleep better at night knowing that she's safe, happy and well cared for.

My father is in independent living so there aren't a lot of services that he's getting. He gets meals once a day and housekeeping, I think once a month, and they're fine. They activities are oaky. I think the management team has been exceptionally patient with my dad when he had presented some challenges their way. I think he ended up in the best place for him.

This facility is a buy in. This would not be an option for my parents.

My husband and I visited Parkwood on behalf of his mother who was living in an apartment with no assistance. Since she could no longer drive and she was having some memory issues, we decided to look for a living option that would provide services for her, but still give her the feeling of the independent living that she likes. We loved everything about Parkwood. The residents and staff are so friendly. We particularly like the cafeteria style dining. There are plenty of organized activities. And best of all, my mother-in-law just loves her new home.

This is one of my top choices. I was very impressed with everything.

Presidential Place is awesome, it's a great place. Ivy has gone above and beyond, the food is top knotch, they have a gourmet chef, wonderful guy, he made me a corn beef sandwhich (none of the other places offered me food). They have lots of trips, they go to target, local shopping, even kmart. They also have events, going to Ft. Lauderdale beach, casinos, they're always doing things a couple of times a week, a minimum of two. They are always coming up with new ideas and thinking of things to do. We've saved a lot of money moving here, it's highly recommended, the room is triple the size, very nice. For a person who's worked hard all their life they get to say "Now I live here," it gives you a gratifying feeling. They call it the Taj Mahal and it's wonderful

It really is a very good community. The community is very nice and it is in a really pretty setting. We are pleased with all of their services and everything else they provide. I would recommend this community to anyone.

Most of the staff here is very friendly except for about one or two of them. They could have a little more flexibility with their activities. This is the best community we have found in the Birmingham area. Our loved one likes it here and actually wants to stay. They provide excellent care. It is a community that seems to lean toward independent residents but you can hire your own care if needed. The food is just excellent and the main dining area is top notch. Family members actually come and eat here. It seems like due to how nice it is it would be a more expensive then it really is only about $3,400 a month.

It is very clean, it offers a manageable community to navigate for an elderly peson who has eye and mobility issues, the staff is great, it is a catholic community (which wasn't necessary but it was nice), it's close to me, there was an in unit washer/dryer, and a balcony that my mom could enjoy. The thing that we don't like is the cost to buy in is pretty high, it would be better if it was lower or if it was a monthly thing but she had to buy in and pay monthly charges as well. It was more that it fit her stage of life now, it's very clean, off a main road, it's very friendly (even the residents and staff) and that had a lot to do with our decision. She is having transition issues, which I understand people her age do, but I think she's enjoying it.

I am a nurse that is frequently in this facility to care for clients requiring nursing care. The staff at this facility are kind, caring and professional. Barry Ger and Mary [removed] clearly know the needs of their residents and make sure that the level of care meets only the highest of standards. Dorinda [remove] is also very well aware of the care needs and coordinates a team of qualified staff. I always see residents participating in activities and voicing how much they appreciate Kathy, the Activities Director. This is a facility that i would never hesitate in recommending to any of my clients.

We just really like it here. We don't participate too much but the activites are fine. There's a lot of them. It's just exactly what we want. We go up to eat our meals and I'm very happy with that. The staff in the dining room and the staff all over the place is just wonderful. They are just the best. There was a two bedroom, which we needed.

The meals are a five, I know that because I had one there. That was very good. My mom hasn't joined a lot of the activities. She talks to a lot of pleople but she hasn't gotten into the activities yet. I know she will eventually but she's more relaxed right now. She's very happy there. They have bingo, wii games, sing-a-longs, buses for church and the grocery and wallgreens. There are a lot of things. When we went to tour the place everybody was great. The place was really clean and it was easy to talk to people, even the residents. It seems like the people really care.

We were in the assisted living portion of this community and we were really pleased with it. We really loved this community. The staff was very nice and the community was always very clean. They have a lot of activities at least for the assisted living portion of the community. The director would always respond very quickly to any inquiry. They were very accommodating and worked with the residents as long as they could.

Beautiful community. We do want to continue to look before making a decision. We are interested in looking at some of the other Brookdale properties and also something closer to Lithia.

Everything is going great and she seems to be really happy. We made a good choice in choosing “Emeritus at Oak Tree Village”

Everyone at Freedom Pointe went above and beyond to accommodate us for a temporary place for my Dad, on short notice. He is very happy there and he says that the food is wonderful. That was a huge thing, since he had been loosing weight, not liking the food elsewhere. He is doing really good there. Very thankful for the staff at Freedom Pointe.

My mom likes this one best. Has a one bedroom and is clean, big and Bright! Only downside is has been opened since Aug 2012. Think this is the one for us.

3 levels of care but in 3 different buildings. beautiful! vibrant, but ONLY can keep cats in independent living. Must give up in personal care.
