I wouldn't put my dog in Balfour. I'm surprised they didn't kill my mother.

Beware of Parkwood. When my wife left, there was still $5500 on the account. After almost 3 months, I still am unable to get an accounting of the money, or a refund of that money. BEWARE! Looks like I'm going to have to file Eder Abuse charges, and sue them.

A very good friend of many years was extremely happy with this place until she suffered a stroke, was paralyzed and had to move to the assisted living floor. What a disaster! These floors are so thinly staffed that proper care cannot be given. We have had to go outside of The Clare and hire our own care team and still The Clare fights us. This has been a most sad experience. If you do not have someone who can fight for your loved one - they will not help and will wait until they die so they may turn over the room. A very sad experience!

There is a new Director of food and beverage. Since his arrival The quality and portion size of the food has gone down. It seems to be more emphasis put on appearance than quality.

When my husband and I decided to downsize we visited numerous facilites. CCRC's were hard to find in southeast Texas. We felt it was a blessing when we became aware of The Village at Gleannloch Farms. We used most of our savings to "buy in" and were blessed again by avoiding the 2008 downturn of the stock market. Living at VGF is a rewarding experience and a blessing everyday. We are free of the problems of owning and maintaining a home. Even better - we don't have to cook.

My Dad wanted to find a place to stay for the rest of his life. He knew he had some early signs of dementia along with dementia in his family, so he picked Sagewood for their Life Care - apartment to memory care etc. Literally the day he was moved into memory care, they had him sent off to ER and they required we pay for added help if we wanted him to stay despite an agreement. It felt like they were trying to get him removed from day 1 in memory care and ultimately they told us he couldn’t stay. The trauma was so intense that my Dad went from walking 3 miles around the facility with me the day before to being unable to walk within 2 weeks and he was dead 2 months later. I couldn’t be more sick about his experience at Sagewood.

I would tell others to keep looking around.

Just take your loved one home and find adequate help at home if possible. Dad lost over 11 lbs on a 3 week visit and they were quite happy for him to leave, as if they fixed anything. NOT!! They added to his issues and no one, including administrative were willing to help! Director of nursing said dad lost 11 lbs in rehab because he was more active over the 20 days he was there, please he's 91 years old!!! Very unhappy with the "best place" in the area!! We have a very long way to go for good health care for seniors in this country. Only when it becomes something other than "For Profit" will it get better!

I was extremely disappointed with them. On the front end, they were extremely friendly. But when medical issues popped up, they became very unfriendly very quickly. My mother was in the hospital, and on a holiday weekend the director, through somebody else, informed me that my mother could not come back to the community unless she had 24/7 care while in the facility. We ended up doing hospice, and on top of the additional care that hospice was providing, Clarendale still required us to hire 24/7 care during that time. I was very disappointed in how they handled the situation. When my mother passed, they never even sent condolences.

The facility is beautiful but looks can be deceiving. The care was very poor. Extremely short-staffed. Would never recommend.

We had a very frustrating experience with The Watermark at Bellingham. I would not recommend to anyone and tell others who are looking to go elsewhere.

I would tell others that they went without hot water in memory care for at least 3 days. When I talked to the director, he said "no worries they were fixing it tomorrow". They did not have any accommodations for the residents while that was going on. They are very good for independent living, but not good with memory care. I would not recommend based on our experience.

I normally do not write many reviews, but I must write one here. My father was just discharged from this facility - he was in the rehab center post hospitalization - and it was nothing short of a nightmare. The level of care and responsiveness of the staff was horrifying. I honestly don't have it in me to go into deep detail, but do NOT send your loved ones here, unless you're fairly indifferent on whether or not you see them breathing again after. This facility was recommended by the Mayo Clinic - we trusted them, not knowing better. Do not make the same mistake. Oh, and his wallet "mysteriously" went missing there. Do not - please - make the same mistake we did and send your loved one here.

Unfortunately this is not the place for rehab and/or long term care. Staff is rude and totally lacks communication. Beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside Due to my review this facility has decided that they “cannot offer the care for my loved one”. Once again this just proves how unprofessional & uncaring this place really is

My husband was admitted to skilled care during Covid restrictions. I had not seen him in sometime but was asked to meet him at a doctor's appointment. As an RN and was appalled at his appearance and condition.. His clothes were dirty, his finger nails were 2 inches long caked with dirty, beard not trimmed. He was a very sick man. He was in such bad shape the doctor and NP wanted to report this facility to the State. I asked the nursing staff to trim his nails and was told they don't do nails. If they sent him out in public in that condition I can only imagine what it was like for him staying there. I immediately asked for his discharge. He came home and died 30 hours later. I have been due a refund of $2300 for 8 months and despite, calls, emails and letters no check. Please do NOT subject your loved one to this skilled care facility.

My dad had hip surgery and then when into Clare Oaks rehab. He had no infection when he entered their facility. Within two - three weeks he died. We learned from the ER doctor that he was severely dehydrated when brought in by an ambulance from their rehab center. He had a urinary tract infection which really turned out to be sepsis. He was in renal failure. He died within two/three days. We would speak to my dad on his cell phone daily. He told us he didn’t feel well so we would try to call the nursing staff. We had to ring and ring for at least a half hour before someone answered. Sometimes no one answered. We had to go through their security officer to get them to answer the phone! It was ridiculous. On Super Bowl Sunday we learned that he was in feces for up to eight hours. He pressed the nurse button. One nurse came in and said they would get help. They never returned. Please don’t send your love there unless you can watch them 24/7.

Do NOT send your loved one to Burcham!Covid is running rampant at Burcham and their first response was to blame the family because "we probably bought it in via delivery." Ok, but what practices are they taking to ensure their residents are safe? Their reaction was to blame the familtakinplace as my grandma was in ICU with a positive Covid diagnoses. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away 7 days ago. After leaving them a review on Facebook and Google, they called to arrange a time to pick up her belongings. We were told that we could pick it up anytime in the next couple of weeks due to the holidays. ALL of her things were thrown in boxes and sitting in the breezeway entrance. No one could tell us how long they had been there. Valuables that cannot be replaced like her purse and photos, not to mention everything else! Gofigure, there were items missing. Still doing inventory at this time. The staff was very argumentative, hostile, and rude beyond belief! That place is a disgraceful!

Don't go to this facility, I had an issue trying to get in the facility, they never seemed to be available to let us. The communication was not good, we couldn't get calls returned to us and it was very frustrating. The food was horrible and there was not a variety. I would not recommend this facility

This place is terrible!! Dirty, poorly managed and neglectful. They forget to feed residents! The director of the building does not care about any one of the residents well-being. She’s a selfish, unkind and a money hungry pig. I would stay far far away.

I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone. The people who run the community (the administrators), and the staff who worked with the residents treated the residents in a different ways. When I would go visit my loved one, there would be times that my loved one would be sitting in their feces in their chair. The community removed the call button from my loved one's room due to them pushing the call button too much, due to changes in their medical condition. My family and I noticed that my loved one seemed to be weaker when we spoke to our loved one on the phone. My family was under the impression that the home health team was still seeing my loved one. After my family spoke to the community home health was not involved anymore. I had to call an ambulance after the head nurse was being rude and telling me that my loved one was just really weak. I stayed on the phone with my loved one until the ambulance arrived, my loved one was dehydrated, had COVID, along with other medical conditions. This community had the highest number of COVID cases in the area.
