We're very happy with this community so far! It's a very nice looking, clean, and well kept facility. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the residents are active and sociable. One negative aspect, however, is that when we moved in we talked at length with them about their protocol for socializing new residents, since we wanted our loved one to get off to a good start here. It may have been because she moved in around the holidays, but they did not follow through at all in this regard. There wasn't any sort of welcoming event for the new residents, or a someone to show them around.

Would have been my choice if we hadn't found Alcor. It was smaller than Emeritus. I liked the people there very much and the residents seemed happy.

I met with Patricia and she took me on a tour and met the staff. I was also able to have a brief conversation with the Director and the owner of the facility. She tried to help me with our budget but we were to far apart.

The Commons was nice. At first I thought that my mother-in-law would have liked it there because it's more encompassing in that it's one huge building instead of a campus with individual buildings. It's all one big place. Now, knowing her health issues, I think she would gotten lost or closed herself off there. They have kitchenettes in the rooms so it would be easier for her to stay shut up in there.

Nice facility. Great outdoor area. Rooms a little on the small side but still clean and nice. Great location. Pet friendly.

The residents were very friendly on our first visit. Very clean, open pleasant public areas. Nice to have private washer & dryer in each unit.

We looked there. It was a bigger community to where we weren't sure if that would be the right thing for my mother-in-law. We were moving her out of another big community because she needed more one-on-one care. It was a little farther for us to go too.

Generally the staff are very attentive and they have good activities, they don't have the widest variety of things to eat but it's usually reasonable. We really like the fact that it was the least expensive that we could find for what we needed. The nursing care is decent, she's only on the medication management place and basically that's what she sees the nursing staff for, to reasses and to get a consult. The only thing really is that for whatever reason and its not negative, it could be the pressures of the job, but the executive team just does not monitor or make sure things get done it does not always communicate well. They had done remodling but they didn't do the heating right so when it got cold they had to make do with space heaters and that would have been okay for a few days but that went on for weeks. She likes it a lot because she found herself a 90 year old Jewish boyfriend but I think she would be happy there even if it wasn't for him.

It's a really nice facility. The biggest thing was the cost. They cost more than some other options we were looking at. They actually have the transition to if you need more care. At that time, my grandmother didn't need the care. Of course, a few weeks later she fell and broke her hip. Had she been there when it happened she wouldn't have had to leave her home community but it had to be her choice and she liked another place. This was probably the second choice but it was more money.

The staff at Huntington Terrace is very professional and understand the emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of the seniors that live there. The administrative staff was very helpful in choosing accommodations for two parents that required assisted care after medical emergencies. The facility is clean, attractive, and comprehensive in its services. The meals are nutritious, vary daily, provide alternative choices, and the dining room staff is well aware of each resident's needs and likes. The caregiving/nursing staff is well trained and follow a workable structure. I am very pleased that my family members are there. It is centrally located and surrounded by pharmacies and medical facilities. Shopping is close by. The facility maintains daily schedules of activities that residents may choose including bus trips for shopping and sightseeing.

That was a nice facility. What really impressed me was the lady that took us around was just exceptionally nice to my mom. The one thing that sort of bothered us though is that we went for a tour in the middle of the day but the place seemed to be just empty event though it was a larger facility in the middle of the day. It was a nice facility but the fact that there didn't seem to be people around doing things kind of bothered me.

We looked at this one for my step-father but there were just too many people for him. He felt more comfortable in a place that's a little bit smaller.

For San Diego it's good deal. We're very happy with. My mother is happy there and she hasn't been happy in the last three places she's been so they must be doing something right. They have quite a few activities and it varies from exercise to musical concerts to games, outings, things like that. The food is very good. I can tell you that first hand because I've eaten there a few time. We're very pleased with the food.

I'm happy with them. I think they're fine. I think there's not very many activities. That might be do to the fact that the patient has Alzheimer's and it's difficult to plan activities for them. Their staffing is really low which I guess is difficult for most places but I though there would be a higher staff to patient ratio. We chose it because it was it was clean and the people were friendly and my mom was able to have her own room and her own shower by herself.

I looked at this one and it was nice but not as nice as the other one we looked at.

The facility was very nice, smaller and in a nice location. They even had the option for my parents to try it out for a month which I find to be very interesting. The only negative is that it is pretty costly. My parents are now on a hold status to move.

Attractive and peaceful inside and out. Patio or terrace Restaurant style food service (healthy) Shower has step over (negative) Cost for service beyond basic (i.e. med management...) Personal laundry service cost but have laundry facilities. Rug smelled People seem happy 160 residents 100 staff

It's not that we're not happy with Dale Commons, its not Dale Commons as much as it is her insurance company, they haven't paid a penny since she's been there because they keep finding more that they need. When we got to Dale Commons, we were told they would be able to handle everything everything everything, doing all the paperwork, running around all of that, but we've had to do it. All they do is keep telling us "don't worry" but we have to worry because we can't keep paying for it and if they kick her out my mom will probably end up passing away. The care though has been fine, the staff is wonderful, the activities has been more on the idea that the kids promote it, she's done a few little things and friday they have a happy hour and they have an entertainer that comes in, so fridays are our mother-daughter days. They're helping her get dressed and helping her shower, they're hands on as she needs it, as helpers go they're wonderful, as management goes, it sucks.

We chose it for 2 reasons: about 2-3 years ago we had gone over there to see the palce when it was brand new and we had liked it a lot; however, we weren't readuy financially to do it and we chose it also because it was close to where we live. We checked out other places in the area and came back to The Commons. My mom is kind of a special case because she lived in a nursing home before and moved up to assisted living, she's only one of the few that did and she knew that she was going to break out of there (her words) at some point and go to a better place so she's really happy to be in a place like this. The only downside of course would be the money, but it really is worth it for her; the demographics of the residents are similar and she feels like they're all so similar. I could jsut go on and on about how wonderful it is for my mom and how happy she is there

THe place was fine, I think maybe they needed a few more people on staff to take care of the older gender. They should probably have more staff to check on people because people were going in to other peoples rooms and taking stuff out because they didnt remmeber what their rooms looked like so they had no idea they were in the wrong room. if they could put more people on staff to stop that from happening and check on them if they fell out of bed that would be better. Its a little too pricey, they probably could have dropped about $[removed] off the price. We left my dad's stuff there for about a week after his funeral and they charged us for that week, if we knew they were going to do that we would have gotten it out alot earlier and my mom wasn't too happy about that
