My mother in law has only been at Elmcroft for about a month so it is difficult for me to be detailed in this review. However, I can say that the facility is very clean, the rooms are spacious, [Removed] is very engaged in activities, and the staff is very friendly. The one thing I wish Elmcroft would make available for my mother in law is a secure place for her to spend time outside enjoying the nice weather. She is not allowed to sit outside because she is a wonder risk. She sees other people sitting outside and gets very frustrated when she is told she cannot sit outside. There is a small courtyard down in the memory care unit. They let her go down there to walk around outside but she gets very depressed when she goes into the memory care unit because the residents there are near the end of their life. It depresses her when she sees it. Other facilities offer lovely courtyards with flower beds and pretty gazebos with comfortable places to sit. I think [Removed] would enjoy this very much. I am giving serious consideration to moving her because of this.

I was very impressed with my tour of this community. Everyone was very kind to my family, and I. The community looked great. Everything was well-kept. The staff was informative, and answered my questions. It was a very nice experience, and my tour was lovely.

My mother is doing great with her move to this community. I know she is safe, and in good hands at this community. They have a great staff. They have been helpful, and very kind. So far I like everything about this community, and I would recommend it.

The staff that have been following up with me about my mother have been great. At the moment everything has been going fine with her she likes the meals that they offer they are tasty and healthy. Activities are offered on site and off site to the residents.

We loved Brookdale Shoals! We enjoyed the grounds and it felt very welcoming. The location was great close to home and family. They were reasonable priced but adding medication administration added an additional $500 monthly which made it out of the budget.

Everyone has been terrific. Very caring and responsive to my sister's needs. We're pleased and so is she.

The Villas at Canterfield is like a four star resort. When you enter the lobby, it looks very nice, and the staff there is all very cheerful and helpful, very eager to answer questions and offer solutions. My relative is very happy there and I would highly recommend them.

My mom is doing very well here. She is comfortable and happy.

Things have gone very well overall at Creekside at Three Rivers. The staff here are very friendly, very caring people, and they do a great job keeping families apprised as to what is going on with their loved one. I would recommend them to others looking into care in the area.

My husband and I visited North Brook Place last week and were very impressed. The place is older but very clean. Very homey and welcoming. The residents we saw and spoke with seemed happy and well taken care of. We feel it could be a good fit for our loved one and we would feel comfortable knowing that there was someone who cared about them as much as we do.

My husband has been in Heron House for only three days, but my daughter and myself feel that it was the right choice for my husband. The facility is clean, the personnel is friendly and caring and we feel confident we made the right choice --- thanks to the efforts of A Place For MOM .

What a well kept and lovely community. I would certainly recommend this community to anyone interested in the finer type of living.

While still very new to this community, the beginning has been truly wonderful. I cannot find words to express our gratitude to the staff and Executive Director for their thoughtfulness and genuine caring displayed during the transition to this beautiful facility. The culture found within the staff speaks volumes in such an organization. Our hats are off to all including the visionary who planted this special place in the "dirt" of this great county. We are all blessed by their presence while we are particularly blessed with a place for our mom.

Carriage Hill is a very attractive, well-kept, Assisted Living facility that also offers Alzheimer's Care. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, off Route 460; it is also one of the few Assisted Living facilities in the Lynchburg/Bedford Area that take insurance & Medicare. In my experience, the administrator was very welcoming & informative. The staff I encountered during my weekly visits were friendly & helpful; I was told that a variety of activities were provided, however not when I was there. While the overall care for this ambulatory was good. 2 main concerns were expressed by the family. The first was that the patient had to see the MD contracted to cover the facility, instead of the physician who had treated her for many years (she saw her own specialists). The other concern of the family was that despite the patient having cardiac problems, including low blood pressure & a history of falling, her blood pressure was only checked once a month! When I questioned this, I was told that it was the normal procedure for this facility. I don't know what the Standard of Care for Assisted Living facilities is regarding checking vital signs, however, in a population with multiple health problems, who take a variety of medications, my view is that this is very inadequate. Regular blood pressure checks can prevent strokes, heart attacks & other cardiovascular events that can cause severe disabilities &/or death. If you choose this facility, I would suggest that you request the doctor order blood pressure checks, at least once a day.

3 years ago my mother fell and broke her hip and was unable to return to her apartment alone. We were very lucky to find Heron East when looking for assited living. She has her own private room and bath which REALLY means a lot when coming from home alone, and has really been happy there. She wieghed 85 lbs when she arrived and has really flourished since moving in and has gained weight. Of course I cannot tell you her weight now (she would not be happy if I did) but the socialization has really improved her outlook on life. I feel very confident with the staff and feel each one cares about her as an individual. Having her cared for and knowing she has a place she can call home has made me feel so blessed in so many ways. Thank you to everyone at Heron East, from the housekeepers to the nursing staff to the management staff. A very grateful daughter!!

This community is very updated from the ambiance to the computer system to the health and fitness of the residents. They do not have skilled nursing but offer good care services for this type of community. They try to keep the residents active and moving as long as the residents wants to participate. I would absolutely recommend Elmcroft to anyone.

My sister-in-law was recently evaluated by her neurologist who recommended that she move to an assisted living facility. My husband and I immediately reached out to A Place For Mom, and they provided a list of options for us that fit her financial condition. After touring Heron East, we liked what we saw and made a quick decision to her at this facility. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the facility appeared to be very clean, and the folks we met who lived there appeared to be content and happy. Our relative, who is been living there now for almost 2 months, is Indeed happy with her placement, and we are all relieved to have the appropriate place for her to live.

The assisted living section of Seagrass in Daphne was very good - the staff was very responsive, and the other residents were friendly - my mom seemed to adjust fairly quickly, and she was rather picky. On the other hand, Alabama has some very annoying rules about who can and can't be in assisted living. After a few months there, my mom was diagnosed with a minor swallowing issue, and was immediately given a 45 day eviction notice. To their credit, management offered her a place in the independent living section, where there was a home health service available for hire. We took their offer, but it turned out to be much less satisfactory - the activities were much farther away, she wasn't allowed to eat in the same dining room with her friends, and the home health service was very hit and miss. She became much more depressed, her health declined, and she passed away shortly thereafter...

We have been very happy with the timely responses we get from all of the staff at Westhill when we have questions about the facility, programs, or my Mother's care. Everyone we've met has been very friendly and engaged, including the chef, that we got to meet during my Mother's move in day. They literally rolled out a red carpet. My family and I highly recommend Westhill if you're looking for a caring and supportive environment for a loved one.
