Watermark Retirement Communities

All caregivers are angels and have difficult jobs. I would recommend Rosewood for very elderly patients who don't need much hands on care or attention. It's a nice place for singles to live out their final days. I would recommend it for people who don't have many health issues. Love it. One mile or less from a major hospital and medical offices plus they have weekly outings to Trader Joe's and other grocery stores and they go to museums, plays, restaurants (like Olive Garden) . They also have field trips across the parking lot to the independent living side to use the gym and swimming pool. One of the chefs worked for Princess Diana... There are also cottages for independent living. We didn't look into that at all because we needed assisted living. It has worked out well.

The administrative staff, intake person was very pushy and difficult. We went to check out the facility in mid-December. She immediately told me they had just one room available and o needed to put down $[removed] to hold the spot. Then we had to move my dad before the end of the year. I told her we couldn't move him until mid January. She insisted we had to live him within two weeks of deposit. She didn't give us the paperwork needed to get my dad admitted. She refused to send any paperwork to our father's doctor. The previous facility in Modesto helped with every aspect of paperwork. Not pushy. And we're really helpful. [name removed] at Rosewood is really their only bright light. She was VERY helpful and caring. The caregivers were incompetent. And not at all qualified to do the job they were doing. My dad's health declined dramatically after moving him to Rosewood. The caregivers let my dad sit in respiratory distress for hours. They finally called me saying he was "nonresponsive." I sent my sister to check on him. The state he was in prompted my sister to call 911. The paramedics were appalled that it took numerous hours for them to even call his family. And that they didn't take the initiative to call 911 themselves. When [name removed] was there she was very good, but the caregivers were not. Granted my father was difficult to deal with and had acute dementia. But the care was less than adequate in my opinion.

We picked this community because it was close to my doctors and other medical staff when needed. Wanted to stay on the east side. Apartment shown was on the main floor. Close to the dining room, the mailboxes , the elevator and the concierge desk. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and helpful. Salesperson was very patient with me. However I am paying a premium to live on this floor, to have a full balcony and its location. I was not informed of this at any time. Bottom line I would not recommend this place until things improve. Many people are NOT independent and should be in assisted living. The most recent residents are demanding, rude and all they do is complain. Sometimes it feels like I am back in elementary school. Also it has been close to a year that this community was bought out. Since the assisted living has not been able to pass state inspection everything has been on hold . Hands are tied with even the smallest improvements here in independent living. Where is our rent money going to and since I've been here there has been an 8% rent increase. March rent will probably go up again for the year all under the legacy and not the new company.

I moved my dad in here. Good people, nice facilities. It was 100% and improvement for his living circumstances. I love this place for him, but they are a little slow to attend to maintenance needs. The staff is great. There is lots for him to do, and lots of folks for him to meet. He is still acting like a hermit, but he did take an outing with them

What the Legacy at Clover Blossom could improve on would be the variety of the food as well as the overall quality of the food. With those improvements, I would recommend this community to other families.

My loved one is currently a resident at Rose Tree Place and overall the experience at this facility has been okay. The cleanliness is good and there are no smells. The friendliness and care services are also good. The staff is great! The food is okay. As for the value for cost, it depends on the level of care needed. The base rate is good, but the extra services are costly and they add them without family approval or even notice.

My mom passed away in February. She was moved to memory care in July. Memory care experience was worse than Personal care. My ratings reflect the overall experience. Some of the staff were very caring. Dining situation, activities and treatment in memory care was not a good experience. Although some staff were very caring.

New facility transitioning to a full service and smooth running is challenging and our initial experience was very bumpy. Caused what I would call undue stress. They were clean and lots of activities for residents.

For weeks the Finance Dept. has refused to return my calls. I just want to know about the "extra" charges they applied beyond the base cost. After one month, I still haven't heard back from them. As the one footing the $[removed]/year rate, I would think they would be more responsive. With several good facilities in the Orlando area, I am beginning to regret choosing Watermark at Vistawilla. Be sure to take this into account when you choose facilities.

My loved one's previous facility was much better. Having said that, the Nurse [name removed] at Rosewood is quite amazing. The sales director was not that great, in my opinion. She was very pushy, only concerned about getting money into there ASAP. She never gave the final monthly fee once my loved one was assessed for care. She gave no guidance with regard to paperwork needed for admittance. I did complain to the facility director. It basically went nowhere.

I feel like the dining experience was misrepresented. Some of the aides are disappointing. My Dad's room is often dirty, he had to wait an hour once after pressing his button, he says it's often a 15-20 minute wait. The cost has gone up almost $[removed] in just a few months!

Initially they said they had all kinds of activities and sold it as a wonderful, safe place. The staff kept changing and they never came through on their promises. The care staff originally was good, but that started to cycle through, and the younger staff was not really interested in the people. They did have one loving and caring older long standing staff member who was very kind to my loved one. No one got Covid during the lockdown so that's a positive!!

Have a relative in Summit Memory Care...this person stayed in the regular senior side befor moving over to memory care...In general they are ok...Dementia or Alzheimer's, brain fog is very difficult to deal with...and they seem to be ok in that area. What we have had problems with is missing items, wrong clothing, bedding, personal items. Tried talking to the staff but they just blame it on the patients.. Currently buying more clothes and bedding for the second time...Not getting better or any answers to where the things have gone missing. I don't really understand how their belongings can disappear... This relative sleeps most of the day away, has lost probably 30 lbs so far... But they seem to be at peace, I'm grateful that this relative has full care, and someone is always there in case they need. them.

The staff is very friendly especially [name removed] unfortunately they nickel and dime you to death with fees Three meals were included daily with your rent unfortunately if you're ill and can't go down and get your food they will bring it up to you for $12 per meal additional that adds up they nickel and dime you to death for medications you can't take an aspirin on your own You can't take a vitamin on your own they have to bring it to you and charge you per dosage being a vitamin and aspirin a cough drop they charge you each time that all adds up well above what you're paying for your rent That's a big negative for me if I know that going in I wouldn't have placed her there.

This community could work to improve their communication with the families

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good visit but the community was just a little outdated and was not as clean

The director turnover is like a revolving door. The caregivers are understaffed during the 6A-2P Shift. Sometimes there's only 1 working for the entire facility.

Many of us residents are having problems with water retention. The food, especially the soups have to much sodium!

The staff members were very friendly, at times they did seem a little understaffed, but we really did like the place. Unfortunately our loved one was only there for about a week before having to go into the hospital, to no fault of the communities. They had a lot of activities going on for the residents, we were very impressed with the apartment, they were quite large for senior living. We actually want to move there when the time comes. Our only criticism we have, is we do think they should be a little more selective when it comes to the level of care of the residents they are moving in.
