Not as nice a setting as River Walk at The Hebrew Home for the Aged, and more expensive but, unlike River Walk, it had 2BR units and in general its apartments were materially larger. Riverdale location an important plus.

They are short staffed, they could not give my mom the attention that she needed medically. I was not aware they didn't have staff on site to do that even with small wounds that needed dressed. I do have hospice come in to assist with her care as was not aware was an option but now am and it is true blessing. For the most part the listen to what I have to say, which is nice.

This is an aging community that is not aging well.

This place is fine until you sign the papers. Then you are turned over to an incompetent Assistant who can' find or answer anything. Its all very unprofessional. Once Dad made his deposit it was roadblock after roadblock. Although we are now settled in, I will be exploring other options! Truly miss [Removed]and his staff they were really awesome!

My mother lives at 5 Star now and although she very much likes her apartment and it is close to me, the dining experience is poor. Quality of food is inconsistent. The service is slow and often poor. Often the residents need to wait 30-60 minutes for a table at dinner time. The management is not responsive to complaints and the facility is not staffed appropriately. Of equal concern is security is not a priority. The garage door has been broken and permanently open for weeks allowing anyone to come in.

This is an older community and it did not seem very clean when we toured. The people we met were nice. The rooms were small and they had the feeling of a hospital room.

I was not impressed when I toured this community. The people I met were like high pressure sales people. The community was clean. The community is in a nice area.

My parents have been at Aspenwood for over 2 years. It was good at first, but there has been a complete turnover of staff except for the maintenance man. They have lost some good people. New director does not seem to be able to bring in or attract capable people. Director also does not participate in resident meetings to hear and share ideas and information. Building is over 25 years old and could use an upgrade, particularly for the high price. Low water pressure and lack of hot water has been the latest issue for all residents. Other issues have been HVAC units not working, insulated windows fogging do to broken seals and water valves so old that water can't be shut off to replace a leaking faucet without shutting off a portion of the building. Meals...I hope you like chicken, often. Searching for a new place...

My parent still had the ability to clearly walk and talk. This was not a fit as many residents needing further care or were not as mobile. He was not a fit.

My Mother was a resident three and a half years. The facility and room were very satisfactory. Attention to maintaining a constant care schedule - bathing, supervision of staff and communication between the facility doctor requires consistent monitoring by the family. Overall the facility lacks supervision. There is only ONE doctor which services the facility and the doctor will not communicate directly with the family. A Sunday visit can frustrate the family when your Mom's care is not being taken care of consistently.

We entertain there with The Bedpan Band and nobody was happy and the staff was grumpy too, but it was a beautiful place. It just didn't seem like people were happy. It looks like a grand hotel or something. It was just gorgeous but you could just tell that the staff and the people were just not happy people. I didn't have a complete tour but you could just tell people weren't happy and the staff wasn't happy even getting people to their seats to listen to us. It used to be a hotel so I'm sure they aren't apartments but more like hotel rooms.

The person I was working with before my mom moved in was amazing. She was fired a couple days before moving and there wasn't really anyone that helped us out. And now I found out that they are changing ownership. The people in the community are super nice and welcoming

Housekeeping was atrocious! Majority of the staff were rude and talked very hateful too the residence! My mother was Only there from August to the [date removed]! I had Cameras in her room so I saw a lot of things that I did not approve of!! Will Not Recommend Cameron hall to anyone!!

The condition of my mom's apartment needs drastic improvement. The ceiling in her bathroom fell in. There are bugs and a broken blind

Families really need to stay on top of their loved ones care. If a loved one needs a good amount of care and has cognitive issues but not severe enough for memory care then you probably want to find another facility.

Administration changed over twice with no notification and new Administration did not adjust well. The facility itself was nice and the staff were super friendly and helpful. But looking back they were not able to give my mom the care she needed and I should've moved her to a different facility. The person in charge of the books had a curt approach to speaking with me after mom died and said I had 8 days to get her stuff out. A positive. [name removed] at the welcome desk was phenomenal and was so good to my mom.

The professional staff was not great, they lied about transportation availability (the biggest reason I moved there) a major issue for me as I see a couple of physicians a week. The maintenance 'chief ' could not find his way his way out of a plastic bag. The activities were boring, the good ones run by other inmates. It was very pathetic. I rarely saw our ED. She stayed hidden away in her office. The business managers job seemed to be to protect the ED but he was usually wandering the halls and very polite. It was always stained. The smell of sewer was pervasive. All the lounge chairs shower have years of use and the activity room spend where we spend a lot of our free time was carpeted which got more or less wet from week to week but it was NEVER DRY. The place was looked gorgeous but look a little deeper and the viewer will find broken wc's and walkers hidden in the basement stairs, mold in some of the basement , frequently broken windows , and on and on.
