Review for Overlook Green Senior Living

Very disappointed. Staff took hours to answer call bell. My dad sat in dirty diapers many hours. The facility was clean overall. Even when I would visit and go to the Rn desk they ignored him. I think families should know that the facility is appropriate for independent living not assisted.

Our family's experience - would never recommend

Very very sorry to use this facility. First, [name removed] is not honest. They lost my $[removed] deposit then wanted me to rush them a new check. Her demeanor was rude and disingenuous. They wanted their money and were uncaring. Bait and switch tactics also. Contract said 3 showers a week, then suddenly after my dad's admission, it went to 2. I had to fight with nursing supervisor for one more shower. My dad's meds were never delivered even after an extra monthly fee of $[removed]. Not once were his meds administered because the nursing supervisor never transferred his meds from Walgreens. I had to bring them. My dad spoiled his adult diaper overnight and the caretaker on duty yelled at him, was rude and disrespectful. She didn't bother to change him, she just cut another diaper in 1/2 and shoved it down the front of the soiled one. My dad's skin was in contact with urine for hours, causing severe irritation. These occurrences depressed my dad and he passed away 5 weeks after his admission [date removed] I wish I kept him in his house and paid a private duty nurse. The world should know how disgusting these people are, especially [name removed], who never responded to calls nor emails.

Heartbreaking Experience with Legacy Heights Memory Care.

My family and I are devastated by the experience we had at Legacy Heights Memory Care, and I feel it’s my responsibility to share what happened so that others can make fully informed decisions. After more than 15 years of caring for my mom at home with early-onset Alzheimer's, we made the incredibly difficult decision to transition her to a facility. Legacy Heights Senior Living Facility came highly recommended and were told they had a memory care unit. After visiting over a dozen places, we chose them based on the assurances we received about the level of personalized care they could provide. When my mom was admitted, she was stable—eating well (with assistance), drinking fluids through a straw, continent when assisted to the restroom every two hours, good weight, and able to walk short distances with support. We were told they could continue the same routine: regular meals, 1 nutritional shake daily, hydration, repositionin

Very disappointing experience

They were terrible! Only the PT was good! They raised the prices on those who could not afford it and did no repairs. They did not pay employees and they left...Overall, it is living on past reputation. The remaining residents are either too old or too poor to leave. It is very depressing!

You might as well let your loved one die on an iceberg in the Arctic

My loved on (unfortunately, I live far away) has been left more than two hours to soak in her own urine. This emergency happened this morning. Someone came in and told her that she can't have breakfast, left a canister of water so [name removed] could wash her face. The care here is consistently awful in assisted living. [name removed] hasn't received her mail in the month she's lived there, the food is tasteless, and she is at the mercy of a legion of "caregivers" who do not give a rat's ___ about [name removed] welfare. [name removed] and I speak on the phone every day. Almost invariably if a caregiver is present they cross-examine her. "Who are you talking to?" "Who were you talking to so late at night." It's all window dressing. Avoid this dump like the plague!

Review for Park Summit

Park Summit is my first experience in an Alf. Fortunately for me I found out my diagnosis and it has nothing really to do with being disabled. I had a concussion 3 years ago and it caused ( in years to come) possible mania which I now I have. Knowing why I have been so up down up down angry and scared. The medication I've been given is miraculous. I share my story because if you are not old, somewhat feeble, need medical or psychiatric assistance I guess this place is a safe space. It most definitely is not me. I'm going back to the beach and Ft Lauderdale to continue writing novels and hoping communities where political, religious, musical and are empowering not downgrading. The nonsense with food times is ridiculous. I have never eaten at such odd hours, that is evident that i made breakfast once and dinner 2x. The food is bland and boring. The activities are for people who have severe memory loss or are just happy with doing anything to occupy their mind. I have complete compassion because I was there for 2 years. I thank God and am so grateful to have my life back again. The nonsenses you "sell" about providing food, cleaning once a week and activities produce an expectation that does not get fulfilled. The internet must be 800 years old. And to get something brought up during any other time than the hours your policy provides also doesn't work. Medicine was delivered at 11am. When I went down it couldn't be found, til the receptionist actually tried looking for it. I would give Park Summit a 3 on a scale of 1-10 if you've decided your life is pretty much over and you just want to chill. Not for me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fully and honestly share my experience.

Not the right place for us

My husband was in this memory care unit for only 3 weeks. Despite assurances to the contrary, this Memory Care Unit was not equipped to work with a physically fit but challenging non docile 73 year old patient. The truly upsetting issue that I’m dealing with now is that despite demanding I remove him with no notice they are charging me for the balance of the month. They also lost valuable personal property of his and raised his level of care with no notice.

Trouble from day 1

First, before my 95 year old father entered the facility, the management lost his 35 page application and his $[removed] check. [name removed], the administrator took my calls and apologized however once my dad entered the facility, she never responded to my emails. Second, they told us and it was written in the contract that my dad would get 3 showers a week. All of a sudden, they tell me they had a policy change and he only gets 2 showers. Disgusting. We had to fight to get back to the 3 shower regimen. Third, my dad soiled his adult diapers one night and the aid berated my dad! She then cut some other unused diapers and shoved them in the front of his dirty diaper instead of just changing him. I wanted to take my dad out Of there at that point. Keep in mind, these incidents occurred within 2 weeks after he entered The Court at PalmAir. We had to go to the director of nursing and report this incident. The food tasted like defrosted TV dinners. I regret bringing my dad here.

Improvements Needed

Poor security, spider webs everywhere, cleaning staff have residents sit in the hall as they attempt to clean, no receipts given for meals, employee turnover is high, laundry room dirty, trash room NASTY, price has gone up twice in one year, (YES 2x’s) and more importantly my mom has now gone 2 weeks with no air conditioning!!! Went to buy a fan, because the work order has not been acknowledge (meaning it’s not her turn..really!) My mom likes the activities and the people. If this isn’t fixed by the end of the week…I will be calling the Dept of Aging. Come on Fountainview $[removed]a month and you can’t guarantee safety and air conditioning and that’s the minimum. The people running Executive Drive need an update…bring the others back that were there in 2022. STOP hiring people that don’t care.

We have a lot of restrictions and rules and that’s something I’m not use to . With the cost I wish we had more freedom . I have great neighbors and have good relationships with some people here though and enjoy that part .

Declining Management

I am near the end of my rope with 5 Star Premier Residences of Boca Raton. I wasted three hours waiting for my last four dinners, and they were the wrong order when they came. I have been living here for over three years. The rent goes up 9-10% each year, and the life-quality deteriorates correspondingly. The Executive Director excels at ignoring me. She has to ":check with "Corporate" "to give you a yes or a no on the day of the week. If I need to change my A/C air filter at three months, I have to prepare a work order for a routine maintenance item. If I don't submit the work order, it may not get changed for six months or more. Then, they lose the work order. Happy Hour hardly EVER STARTS ON TIME. Just another frustrating management deficiency. I am not a complainer, but I have no room in my life for POOR MANAGEMENT at MY EXPENSE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!

Very disappointed

We actually had a bad experience. The administrators were good but the employees did not take proper care of my mother and she ended up back in the hospital. The facility was clean so we figured it was a good choice. The problem was the caregivers. They did not give her the correct medicine doses and expected her to eat on her own after we asked them to help her. Therefore, she became very sick. They then lied to the management staff. They also took her personal wheelchair and I had to search the facility for it.

Manor Pointe in Oak Creek WI

The building is poorly constructed and therefore extremely noisy. Residents are not respectful of their neighbors and slamming doors that make walls shake are sadly not uncommon. Walls are so thin that voices, tv sound and even telephone ringing can be heard. Apartment entrance doors have 2 inch gaps that allow hallway noise to enter the apartments and seem to help make doors get out of alignment making them hard to close and lock. People walking around in the upper apartments is enough to make the ceiling fixtures in the apartments below shake and rattle. The is a 24/7 problem and management does nothing to address it. Common area and hallway carpets are threadbare and seamed with electrical/packing tape. Group activities are largely card games. If you move here - be prepared to pay top dollar for bottom quality.

Bad Move

Let me begin by saying they raised rents across the board by [removed]% for Independent Living. It has also increased every year since he moved in but this was the worst. I think they know many people can't move at this stage of their lives. My family member has been there for 5 years and the services continue to decrease. The food continues to get worst. They have no chef and the server admitted all the food is frozen and just heated up. People routinely send their meal back. The residents are routinely talked down to. Transportation is minimal. There used to have two drivers, now one. It is sad to not be able to help and have to listen to how unhappy most people are there. Please think twice before taking your loved on to the Court of Palm Aire.

Poorly run

This place has been in a downward spiral since the executive director came on board a year ago, compounded with Fountainview being taken private. Since then, there has been almost a complete turnover in staff in every aspect of the operation. Basic upkeep is nonexisitent. Dirty carpets and elevator (even the recently refurbished one), poor housekeeping, holes in the wall, broken air conditioning, moldy ceiling tiles, rusty ceiling frames, dirty chair cushions, malfunctioning master fire alarm, and broken entrance gate to name a few. The food service is in dire need of improvement; slow service, lukewarm food, and menu experimentation. This is their 3rd or 4th chef in 18 months. When the Executive Director is addressed with problems, she never takes responsibility and replies that its being worked on, as weeks and months and over a year for the elevator, go by. The nursing staff is caring but understaffed. It's not a place I'd recommend. Take a tour of Building 5 and see for yourself.
