My mom no longer resides there. I had a very negative which is why I move her. The staff did not follow her doctor request which resulted in endangering her life. I honestly do not believe that you get the care that you pay for. I would not recommend this community. Use caution before you put someone you love into this place and check places out thoroughly.

If you are looking for good food, this is not the place for you. The quality of the food has declined in the past year, so much so that my friend is making some of her own meals now, the reason you are paying so much is for delicious food everyday, not mediocre Food. If they would pay the wait staff and chef more money there would be better service. Put more money in the budget for good quality & flavorful food. The residents would be much happier, many are complaining about the food.

Many have left because the food value is not what it should be. The food should be hot, delicious, & nutritious. Served in a timely manner. There is a high turnover with the wait staff. Sometimes waiting to be served has has been 45 minutes. Then receiving food that is not flavorful, cold, not cooked to the right temperature is just not acceptable when you are paying so much to live there. It was good in the beginning, but the past year it has declined, considering a move to a new location is crossing the minds of many.

My Mother-in-law lives in this community and when she first got there the service and maintenance were outstanding, but recently it has fallen off rather quickly while it looks nice the service and upkeep has fallen to an unacceptable level for the so called upscale community. The staff has been reduced to a level that is not able to be effective. Today the parking lot was dangerously slippery and not cleaned of snow and ice. This community has fallen to a new low level for the price that they charge residents.

I toured 3 months before their assisted living facility was open. I was looking for assisted living and made that very clear from the start. I described my mother's physical and memory problems. [Name removed] suggested independent living now, with contracted assisted as needed from the home health service they partner with. That's what my mother has at home now. Compared to the other places I toured & interviewed, [Name removed] seemed to have almost no knowledge of or experience with assisted living, and didn't seem to recognize the need for it, at least in my case. The place may be great for independent living.

The consistent complaint about the Enclave is the low quality of the meals.

Food is absolutely terrible. A horrendous atrocity if you care about adequate meals for your loved ones and their well being. Very poor quality food. Very limited choices - canned vegetables, pressed meats, hot dogs, hamburgers and sausage is often the main choice for lunch and dinner. Staff doesn't appear to know or care about hygiene. I saw a dirty spoon, that was previously used by one resident, handed over to another instead of the staff getting a clean spoon.

This facility is a newer place so the building is nice. The location is Central to most anywhere. The level of care is adaquet only if you are self reliant enough to care mostly for yourself. They sell themselves as licensed AL ll which they told us they could care for my mom until the end. They are in no way even close to being able to care for a senior needing full nursing care. If all you want is senior living then it is okay. When your loved one reaches a point of needing more care than minimal you will have to relocate to another home.

I can only rate Westview at Ellisville Assisted Living & Memory Care with 2 stars based on the current situation at the facility. My Mother is a former resident and was one of the first residents in the Memory Care Unit. At that time, and up until about 2 years ago, I would have rated the facility with 5 stars. Since the change in management about 2 years ago, the quality of service and professionalism has gone down substantially. There has been a drastic change in staffing in the Memory Care Unit and most of the long-term care-giving staff have either transferred to other divisions, left on their own accord or have been terminated. As I live in Germany, I only had contact with the facility about once a year when I came back to St. Louis to visit. My sisters, on the other hand, were there on a daily basis. On my last visit, in April 2018, our Mother celebrated her 98th birthday. My sister brought in ice cream and cupcakes to celebrate with the residents and staff in the Memory Care Unit as well as some of the other residents and staff in the facility who had had contact with our Mother over the years. My sister was in the open kitchenette area scooping out ice cream and putting cupcakes onto plates to be distributed to the residents, staff and anyone else who happened to be in the Unit at the time. Suddenly, the director of the Memory Care Unit started yelling at my sister to get out of the kitchen area, that she was not supposed to be there. That may very well be the case, but the way it was shouted at her was extremely non-professional. If she were professional, she would have asked my sister in a civil tone if she could speak to her privately, and not yell at her for everyone (the staff, the residents, our family members and family members of some of the residents) to hear. As a former Nursing Home Administrator licensed by the State of Missouri, and a long-term manager, this type of behavior by the director of the Memory Care Unit was totally uncalled for. A few weeks ago, my sisters were told that Westview could no longer provide care for our Mother and that she would have to leave the facility within 30 days. In hindsight, what kind of care were they providing? She has had a couple of bed sores, the current one is a level 3 sore. How could it go from a level 1 to a level 3 if they were providing her with care? She had a huge bruise on her side a few months ago that no one could account for (“she may have fallen in the shower” is the excuse they used, but she is never in the shower by herself, she is always attended to.) Luckily, my sisters were able to find another facility in just a couple of days and she no longer has to be at Westview. She has been at the new facility for a couple of weeks, and the family is extremely satisfied. For the sake of the existing residents and any future residents, it would be great if the Memory Care Unit at Westview could return to the professional facility that it used to be.

The first five years mom was in memory care we were more than satisfied with her care, and the staff that cared for her. We thank [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and our very special friend [name removed], for their love and kindness to mom and all of the family. The last two years have been very difficult for us. Administration changed, there was a decline in service and care. Complaints to the executive director really never went anywhere. Mom has been moved to another community where she is receiving outstanding care, and we are treated with the respect we deserve to be treated with. As I said: We make no apologies for demanding and expecting quality care for our mother.

Person we met with never addressed any resident by name - sad after she said she had been there for 2 yrs.! We're looking at "companion" suites and theirs was extremely small. Don't think this facility will work for us.

Dining has deteriorated from restaurant style dining to a buffet now because they can't get enough servers. Food is cold and due to mobility issues for many of the residents this should not be occurring when table side service is advertised. Food choices have diminished - two entrees down from three and a fish choice. Housekeeping is minimal - bed is changed but they don't dust thoroughly or clean the floors correctly. Rug in our apt. is showing signs of wear that shouldn't occur after only 7 months. Now we have spiders in our apt. I am deeply disappointed in the response from management. Promises and more promises and no action taken. Dining has got to improve.

My Husband really likes it at this facility. Everyone here is friendly and the staff seems to be concerned about his well-being. He is pleased with the care he is receiving even though the food isn’t the greatest. They don’t really offer many activities and the ones they do have, no one really shows up to. I would recommend this facility to people who don’t want to do a lot of activities.

My dad was here briefly and from the amount of time that he was there, we did not like the nursing staff. I'm in the medical field and I know how my dad is supposed to take his medications. I tried to speak with the nursing staff there and they said he should be taking they’re way. I didn't agree with that and when I tried to voice my opinion, they became very defensive and unwilling to accommodate. We decided to move him somewhere else because of this. I would not recommend bringing your loved one here.

I toured this community with a friend of mine and it was a horrible experience. The director was not giving us her full attention at all and we kept getting interrupted. The pricing was way over budget. They had no information to give us. And they had no rooms available and just overall NOT prepared for a good tour. Needless to say we chose another place.

My mom has been living at Homestead for several years. I have to say it is finally getting the facelift it has needed for years. Recently, Homestead decided to change management once again and in my opinion that was a mistake. Homestead found someone upbeat and that truly cared for the people that live here only to change it. I don't believe in fixing things that aren't broken. This isn't a job for everyone and when you find the right fit you need to keep it. I have stopped in on several occasions to meet [removed] and I'm told she is off today or unavailable at the moment. I'm just not impressed with Homestead any longer.

We were in this community for a short time. We did not like the staff who were not pleasant. The staff gave my father the incorrect medication. The community was clean, but they need to keep up on cleaning more often. They staff do not communicate very well. The menu was appealing and more variety. They do have a lot of activities for the residents. We could not recommend this community to other families at this time.

When my loved one stayed here there were errors with the medication. There is no communication between the nurses and the rest of the staff. There were numerous staff changes in their director of nursing. There was inconsistent care and they were not open to suggestions. They were charging for services that were not being provided. It felt like they were only in it for the money.

I had an issue with this community. We did put a deposit down on a room ,but we did find other community that suited our needs better overall. It took a while for them to refund me my money. It was a disappointing experience.
