Five Star Senior Living

I would tell my friends that I feel it isn't any different than another community. I feel it is close, clean, and friendly. I feel it is a little expensive. The activities prior to COVID included: family hayrides, trivia, family game night, bingo, wine before dinner for the residents, and movie night.

One thing that really stood out to us at first was the overall atmosphere it was very nice, the rooms are decent size. The food was very good, the portion sizes were nice and had a variety of food to choose from. We would recommend this community to a family or friend.

We chose this community because of the double assist and the location to us. The room sizes are comfortable. Our favorite part about this community so far has been the availability of the activities for different residents capabilities. I would recommend Voorhees Senior Living.

Legacy Heights is pretty average in price compared to the other communities we looked at. The activities are very good, prior to COVID they would bring kids over from the high school down the street to play music for the residents, they also have a shuttle bus that would bring them to a store, or a restaurant for lunch. The layout is pretty good, it is smaller and slightly older.

When I was looking for a community for my mom, I visited several places in the area, and Five Star had the nicest environment, was the most updated, and felt like the closest approximation to a luxury apartment building. Also, Five Star was willing to assessment my mom, work with us, and accommodate her unique set of the needs. The nursing and administrative staff have been very friendly in accommodating our requests as well. They have nice amenities available for the residents including a gym, beautiful library, and a business center with computers and printers to use. The food is adequate, They offer a restaurant style dining experience with menus and a hostess. The dining staff are aware of each residents likes and dislikes. I am happy to have my mom in a safe and stable environment.

A very nice place, there was a roomful of tenants doing pet therapy while I was there. The lady at the front desk was very nice. The tour was quick but I got a good impression. I really liked how the place is set up. I believe they are part of the 5 star group and I have also visited another one of their sites in Pineville and was equally impressed. I was surprised it was not on the list I received from A Place for mom. [name removed](Legacy Heights) mentioned that they are in the process of remodeling some of their building also. They are on my short list.

I liked the whole place--the apts. were very nice, the food was excellent and they even have a gym with the equipment I like. I am considering living here.

Really liked the memory care unit - although rest of facility has been there for a while, the memory care is just a little over 1 year old. Liked the layout of the common areas, residents seemed happy and engaged and there were a few private rooms, but they still have a shared bathroom which is a problem for my mom. The personal care/assisted living rooms were a little bigger than Mt. Vernon (they are both owned by 5 star senior living). They also have private showers in each room.

I am very pleased with Devon Senior Living and their memory care unit. They take excellent care of my mother. I agree that sometimes it does smell especially on the weekends. And also there are many stages of dementia and when I first toured locked down dementia units I found them very depressing with people just sitting around doing very little. This was because at the time my mother wasn't ready for those units. Sadly my mother's condition has progressed their memory center is appropriate for her at this time. She did well in the main area for a long time.

Five Star tour was a great learning experience for [name removed] and I. We learned the terminology of the health care industry. [Name removed] was extremely helpful explaining the facility and gave a very nice tour.

We liked it. Seems friendly, clean, many activities, lg studio was vey roomy. Seems bigger than 1 bedroom. Reasonably priced. 1 yr lease, increase rent appt 3.5% yearly. No stove ,no balcony,

Lovely couple joined us for lunch. Sales person only showed us one unit and it was a two bedroom unit. We do not need a full kitchen in her unit and would like all three meals covered.

Seemed nice. Unofficial tour, because manager wasn’t there, also no information on pricing. Floor plans don’t have overall square footage and not completely clear whether dimensions are entire apartment or just area printed in.

The tour was very nice; I chose an apartment and told my mother in a way that made her excited to see it. Then, I received a call that night saying that they could not accept her. I was quite disappointed. The nurse [Name removed] who came to assess my mother appeared to be totally unsure of herself, to the point t where she had difficulty expressing complete sentences. I asked the hospital nurse to have her stand to go to the bathroom so [Name removed] could witness and assess (as I explained to [Name removed]). Instead of witnessing this, she followed me into the hall , walking behind me as I tried to have a phone conversation. When I returned to the room, she was gone. I then saw her in the hall - she came in and che Jed my mother’s feet and buttocks. Soon thereafter I received the call that my mother wouldn’t be accepted at Washington Senior Living. Very disappointing.

Tour was personalized by a welcome message with our names on a board in the lobby - nice touch. Also received a gift bag at the conclusion containing carrot cake dessert - another nice touch. As far as the tour, we saw the different rooms available. It was amusing that a tenant riding in the elevator with us insisted on showing us his room and we accepted his offer. The fact that this was assisted living was driven home as we witnessed many folks in wheel chairs throughout our tour. If we decide that assisted living is needed we would certainly consider this as a viable option.

Heart Fields at Easton is a very nice facility. It has a very competent and caring staff and management. Caring for the patients involves great compassion and love. Heart Fields people have these qualities.

This setting is not the typical institutional feel - it resembles more residential, "home-like" setting. The staff are all friendly but adequate staffing numbers have been an issue of late. The facility is well maintained and very clean. The activities are directed more toward those that are more mobile like the residents of the cottages, rather than the assisted living residents who have more trouble with moving around. The dining room serves from a menu and the food is adequate but challenged with serving hot food, hot...and cold food, cold. It is reasonably priced based on other facilities that we visited.

Very nice facility. The staff is smiling and helpful and the place is very clean.

This is a nice place but it just didn't feel like it could be home to me.

I enjoyed the staff and environment. The layout seem to work well. The staff were engaging with the residents. The community also see to have a good sense of the challenges of Alzheimer's
