Five Star Senior Living

So far the experience is going pretty well for my mother with her move to this community. The only issue we have had is with the in house care services they provide. They need to be better with their communication with us. Other than that issue everything else is going well. We do feel she is safe, and in good hands. The staff is good, and they are taking good care of her. The community is well-kept, her room, and the facility are nice, and clean. She loves the meals, and they offer nice activities for the residents. The experience is going well, and I would recommend this community.

This looked like an active community when we visited. The person that took us on tour was friendly. The carpets in the hallways unfortunately looked dirty and the community was not pleasant to look at.

This community was very nice. The person that took us around was very nice and helpful. The community however, did not offer the services that my brother needed. I liked that the community was clean and it did not smell like urine.

During our tour I had noticed that the complex they had was geared more towards an independent living. It was very spread out and and everyone looked like they had to do everything on there own. I have no complaints of the staff and everything looked neat and well maintained, my mother just needed more assistance then what they had to offer.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and explained everything. I really liked the community it was nice and clean. As soon as you walked through the gates into the community it was a beautiful site. One thing that i didn't like was the extra fees for everything that they offered. Overall it was a great community with nice staff.

Very nice place if you just need assisted living. Our problem was that we needed extended care that they said they could deliver but they didn't. Just be aware that you will be doing most of the work

Helpful, friendly, amazing are just some of the words to describe the property. We love it , our friends love it . I would suggest other people should come here as well.

Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase is going well overall. The lower level employee are super. My apartment is perfect, the maintenance is perfect. Everything is just fine but fore the money we are paying there are some issues. The chefs assistant and manager are just so kind but we all know that they cant cook for those that need health food. They have to cook for the masses. I understand that but food is so important to me. The good is so good but the bad is very bad so it's so hard to rate. The housekeeper couldn't be lovelier. The service people are absolutely lovely. The residents are just so lovely too.

Right now my husband is just getting settled in at Overlook Green. The sales counselor is great and follows up with me ongoing to make sure everything is going well and always answers questions and follows through on what we need. A larger room became available which we wanted and all personal belongings were moved and my husband received a pendant call light as we requested. Staff is very nice and considerate of his needs. We have already used their transportation van and the driver was of the greatest help and was willing to work over time to get my husband to doctors appts on an emergent basis. So far so good!! My only suggestion is that 5 Star renovate and upgrade the entire facility as it remains looking and feeling like an older nursing home, depressed and gloomy, rather than a crisp cheerful personal care facility. The outside needs cleaned up, painted and modernized also so as you enter you feel uplifted. We look forward to my husband's improvement especially with the wonderful nurses and aides we have met and the onsite physical and occupational therapy dept.

This facility is aesthetically very pleasing. I am very happy with mom being here.

The community is clean and the staff is friendly, however my concern is staffing level and turnover especially for CNAs. Although the community says they meet NC State requirements, the ratio of CNAs to residents needs to be more to reduce how long some residents have to wait for assistance.

The only thing that really bothers me about the place is the food. The quality of the food is very poor. Their attentiviness could be better in memory care. They could interact with them a little more.

Our expereience over the past 1 1/2 yrs has been just that, an experience. My loved one is in the memory care building and the sales pitch was wonderful but does not follow through. I was sold a "montosourri" lifestyle for the residents, but the care staff does not pariticpate unless a tour is coming thru or a prescription is written for PT or OT to do it. The most simple requests (i.e. yogurt for lunch or with lunch) can turn into the biggest ordeal. You must bring the yogurt in yourself if you want them to have it. I though meals were included with the monthly fee? They are quick to diaper a resident, and slow to change that diaper. You really need to be hands on for the first 90 days after moving your loved one in. It's not a bad place, but i do feel like i need a "nanny cam" sometimes.

Very nice. It's right downtown Ft. Myers. It's about 80% independent living, but the top floor is all assisted living. They would have everything you need up there, but I think that the fact that it was so big kind of intimidated my in-laws.

initial impression is one of a homey relaxed atmosphere where staff interacts with residents seamlessly. way too early however to give an overall rating as only time will tell if facility truly offers a lasting living experience for my aunt.

My dad is there and it's good. It's a lot bigger, first of all, so it's more difficult to get care right away. The care there is not as one-on-one and personal as some smaller place. I think they might improve their response time to their patients' needs but because it's so big that might be hard to do.

What a daunting task! I spent a lot of time touring, meeting people and asking questions. But what a nice bunch of people! Moving in was quite a job also. I love the amenities-pool, gym and lots of activities, both mental and physical (and spiritual). I've decided it will take some time to adjust to my new surroundings, but I'm in no hurry Everyone is making my new journey pleasant, Of course, I'll question my decision for a while, but I think that's normal.

I thought this was nice, it would have been my first choice if I went the assisted living route. It just seemed bright and clean and just left a good initial first impression.

Their focus was more towards the marketing and they just couldn't keep my mother there anymore. They wanted to bring in somebody from the outside to watch over her for $3000 a week and we just couldn't afford that.

Since 3 weeks my Mom lives in the Assisted Living ,Legacy Hights, she needed to be moved from an Independant Lving Place she was happy there. Unfortunately she fell and fractured her hip, was in Rehab for 8 weeks and could not return to her old place. She is 92! Of course a new place at that age is an adjustment, I can only say, that Legacy Hights lacks warmth from the Staff, not all, but the smiles and friendliness is mossing. Her room is very nice,the DR are many and clean, the Ambiance very nice, you can sit outside, most are cold 76-78F .For my Mom a routine has not been established yet.
