Five Star Senior Living

Great location! In the style of a grand old hotel so had some charming features only let down by the feeling that it was not being kept up as well as it could. The space was good but too many people milling about with either no badges (Agency staff) or bored (also staff). Residents looked liked they were independent and vibrant; even the ones that had slow ambulation and were generally smiling. Nicely updated rec room and pool..a fun place for grandkids to visit. The flats were a good size with lovely decor but the corridors were a bit dated..and stuffy. Worth looking into again. The activities include visits to The Kennedy Centre and Strathmore..whats not to like!!

We are currently still working out some small kinks but they are working with us to try and fix the issues. Overall we are happy and think we are in the right place and would be able to recommend them to anyone.

This is a beautiful facility. The rooms and apartments are spacious in comparison to other places I researched. There have been recent staff turnovers with staff members leaving that my mother had formed relationships with. That has been unsettling for her. Also the caregivers are friendly and helpful but are not invested in the residents care. They do all or almost all that is asked of them. They do not use their own initiative, however. As the residents care needs increase the cost of care increases dramatically. I would say if a resident has only the need for their medications to be supervised and cannot cook this is an excellent place. The facilities are lovely and there are many activities offered. If a resident needs more invested care and if the need for coordinated communication between the staff and caregivers concerning the resident is needed this may not be the place for them.

Residents are “old” and can’t have a conversation, according to my 93 year old father in law. The staff keeps getting his meds wrong. There were tiny ants on the tables when we ate in the dining room. Service is slow, but staff is friendly. It was presented as a much more lively facility with a top notch medical staff. They are going through a management company change and I’m not sure if that is the cause, but we’ve found responsiveness to questions and concerns to be very slow.

Staff is friendly. Community is in a great ( quiet ) location. Just the right number of residents that staff knows everyone's name. Poor communication is an issue ( ie: sorting out meds, day staff knowing what night staff is doing, etc.) On site PCP had been very difficult to communicate with and not enough staff, in general.

Food salty often food not avaliable out. Often run out of desserts.

The tenants do not get hot meals every day. The staff is good but the servers take too long to serve food. The apartment size and location of the community are both good.

They have a new executive director that is making improvements so perhaps in the future the rating could go up. They have a new chef, but there is still improvements that need made to their menu selection

Helpful, courteous, and professional and the food is very good at Tiffany Court also. Yes, we would recommend Tiffany Court at Kingston community to other families based on the experience so far.

The staff overall does a good job but sometimes they seem a bit short handed. There are just areas that could be improved on.

Their executive director hasn't followed through on some requests, like connecting us with services, like senior assistance and health care. There was no orientation to their property. It's a nice facility and I would recommend it...I just wish they were more helpful after signing the lease. It seems like the services dropped once we signed

It's a place more for people who don't have the energy to take care of a normal home. The staff (nursing,CNA's) were fabulous. If someone is thinking about putting their family member there that has memory issues, it's not the place for them. They ignore their mental needs. They don't lock the doors at night. The Director of Nursing doesn't communicate well at all. We moved our mom to Canterfield and it is so much better!

Staff is Good, very friendly. The Forum has a ton of Activities compared to other Senior Living places I have visited. The Food is very Good at The Forum.

My clients were put in respite care there for 10 days. One of the beds broke with when I tried to move it. It was not replaced only modified, neither TV worked in the room at first then my client accidentally knocked it over with his wheelchair, also never replaced and no TV was able to watch for the duration of their stay and his was billed for the tv in which he ACCIDENTALLY knocked over. The room should have been proofed before we came. Cords on the floor and the fact that the tv was too large and in the way of his wheelchair should have been reason enough for them not to be billed for the broken tv on top of being charged an astronomical amount for the stay. I gave specific directions on the needs of my clients and they were not met entirely. We were told there was a happy hour every day but my client was never offered a cocktail. I brought provisions for both of them. I understand things happen but all in all I feel for the money it was not worth it.

One item would be to improve the quality of the food. We are not exactly sure at this moment if we would recommend Five Start Residences to other families. She has only been there for a few weeks.

I recommend they talk with staff and residents and family members. They are going through staff and management changes so things are a little inconsistent right now.

My mother is really unimpressed with the food. The quality of work by the maintenance crew is subpar. They haven't had car availability to get around Savannah like they told her. The apartment is acceptable and has become more homey as she has been personalizing it. [name removed] (admissions coordinator) is wonderful.

Always short staff. Dad has gone 2 weeks with out a bath. Room goes two weeks with no cleaning. They have Dad in Pajamas when I ask them to get him dress to go out to eat. Happen several times. Washer broke twice in a year and we go for several weeks short on clean cloths. Think with the money they bring in that they would have more then one washer. Dyer broke last year and they didn't fix it right away. Some one end up using it and it caught on fire. The fire department came out. Dad has several times sitting in a wet diaper when I have came by. They weren't giving him water to drink. Until I raised coin. Now he has water, but sometimes no straw. There are 3 great nurses and the rest are so so and always short help.

Lots of turnover, which seems pervasive in the elder care community.
