Five Star Senior Living

I would say my tour of this community was okay. The community appeared to be much older compared to the other community I toured. There is some updating they need to make around the facility. I felt like this community is over priced, considering the appearance of the community.

We toured this community for my in laws in their needs. Our tour went well, this is a pretty nice community. Everything appeared to well-kept, and maintained. The staff we met was friendly. It was a good experience, everyone was very kind to us.

I thought that the staff at this location was lovely and had great interaction with all of the residents. The community was very clean and had a lot of great amenities available to everyone. This was my first choice for a place for mother too move in but it was just too far for my family and I too get to her everyday.

I had a a good tour of this community. Everyone was very kind, and courteous. The community looked good, they do a good job with the cleanliness. It was a pretty nice experience, but I didn't feel that this was the community for me.

I wanted to take a tour of this property, but the staff would not show me. It was because they said that my loved one was to young to go to there community. That really upset me because someone could have called me and told me this before I made it all the way there. I would not recommend this place to others.

The outside of the community was kept very clean. The food was enjoyable. My mother's room was not kept clean and it was a common complaint among residents. The staff did not communicate well and were very difficult to work with.

Enjoy touring with Tyler. Building is older than I would like. Location is not the best for me. Have not ruled out.

I toured this community. The person who took us on the tour was very friendly and knowledgeable. This seemed like a clean community. It had some nice amenities to offer. I was not able to try the food at this community.

So far, so good. My parent is a new resident in the assisted living area. Some caregivers are friendlier than others. One person left him on the floor to get another assistant and did not explain to my father why he had to leave him on the floor. Adequate service. Lobby and main dining room is nice to visit and to look at. The rooms have a very good layout to them. The assisted living dining room does not have as much natural light as the regular dining Room., so if it is a little more depressing. Very clean. There are usually two choices for each meal. The menus are better than average. Lovely grounds. I like the fact that they have one wing for Independent living and one wing for assisted living. Waiting to see how well their staff works with the hospice personnel at this time.

I love my apartment and the service staff. I am not happy with management's lack of responsiveness to my repeated requests for improvements to the food. Specifically I and many of the residents need to limit salt and sugar and avoid red meat. Our non- red meat choices are extremely limited and repititious. Sometimes they trigger other dietary issues. For example I don't eat red meat tin pet because I have high cholesterol; options like cheese lasagna are not good options. Moreover food is very salty and often poor quality fatty protein. Management insists salt isn't used but I have had 2 recent bouts of congestive heart failure even though I take a diuretic and several of us notice that when we are at 5 star our ankles blow up, yet when we visit family or go away the problem stops. Visitors to 5 star considering a move should know that the lunches provided on those visits are a far cry from the food served at dinner and would be well advised to pay a surprise dinner time visit to make sure the real food works for them. In addition there have been a lot of cutbacks in the food since I arrived that seem financially driven. Choices are fewer, repetition is greater and portions are smaller. They run out of specialty entrees and popular desserts early often leaving later diners with cheap substitutes and frozen store bought pound cake. Fresh berries are no longer a regular option, other fruit underripe and inedible. Even when fresh fruit is abundant and in season it rarely makes its way to our table. For example Watermelon was served once or twice the entire summer. I understand they are cooking for a large group and do not expect high end restaurant quality food but tasty healthy eating consistent with doctors' orders seems to me a fundamental right if your population is elderly. In addition fresh eggs are served twice a month. Th rest of the time breakfast is precooked on mass and cold and while I don't eat eggs my visiting grandchildren and children deemed them inedible and speculated that they are powdered. For what we pay that's pretty unacceptable. Finally there is no respect for resident's dietary requirements. I've been here several years and have lost 15 pounds I didn't need to lose because I won't eat food that isn't prepared well or compliant with my doctor's guidelines. Others who are supposed to eat lean meals with lots of fresh vegetables have gained dangerous amounts of weight.

I have mixed feelings so far. The transition hasn't been very smooth. I haven't seen them really make the effort they said they were going to, to get her integrated and involved with the community. There have also been some billing issues and confusion. It's clean, and well maintained, the staff is friendly, and all of that is good, it's just been a rough transition.

Overall I think Fieldstone Place is a nice community. The facility is clean and well kept, and the people seem friendly. My only complaint is that the communication and follow-up really drops off after you sign the paperwork. I'd appreciate the same level of service and communication after the sales process is over.

Short visit , less than 10 minutes. When I arrived, even thought I was scheduled, it appeared as though I was not expected. In that it is primarily an assisted living, it was not the fit I was looking for my dad.

We visited this community while looking into care options for our loved one. The price here was just too high, and it isn't based on providing a higher level of service. They are just charging for the premium location, not the services they offer. The 400 square ft. rooms were just too small for two people, especially at the price they charge.

they promise to do everything you request , but are very slow getting anything done . if possible , get a firm date from the management on the finishing of their projects . if they cannot complete the projects on time , an adjustment in rent should be made. the health center and staff for rehabilitation is wonderful . they helped my mother greatly!

For the price I think they do a very good job at Overlook Green. My loved one has memory issues, and they were willing to accept her, but I do think the level of care they provide is more on the assisted living level. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the staff are friendly. They do seem to have a high rate of turnover in the aide staff, however. The people here work hard, and for the price they are able to provide a good level of care, I'd absolutely recommend to families to whom budget is a concern.

Facility has a relatively small number of units, and is scheduled for a major facelift sometime this year. The staff seems friendly and helpful. The food is a good solid ok - a lot like dorm food at a better university. Units don't really have any kitchens - dorm size refrigerator. Senior community not active in a Resident's Council respect, but do have monthly "feedback meetings." Located behind a strip mall.

There is one laundry room for each floor. The one where my mother in law is, we had to go fix the washer ourselves because it was not working. The counter is still broken and needs to be repaired. So there are definitely some things as far as maintenance goes that could be improved. The food also is not good. I have talked to a number of the residents there and have had them all say the same thing - the food is really bad. I of course don't expect them to have five star restaurant food, but better than what they get. I could go on about this for a while - the food is really bad! The place is very clean, Michelle does an excellent job with the activities, and all the staff there is incredibly friendly. There really are a lot of things to commend them for, so it's a shame I've had to say a few negative things. There's a lot of good and a lot to improve at Voorhees Senior Living.

This visit was somewhat of a disappointment as they seemed to be 'rattled!' When I arrived no one knew of my arrival and I did not know just where to go as the directions were not clear. It could have been that Jan Maddox was on vacation, and other personnel were not prepared. The accommodations were satisfactory. It was a so-so experience

The Forum (with Kristin Penney) is definitely an older complex, however very well maintained, welcoming, clean, very active, friendly with a more homey feel as it's 2 story town homes are surrounded with lush trees and foliage, very quiet and serene. Although they had many sizes of apartments I felt like the kitchens were dated and on the small side. Their social areas were big and with always something happening, it was obvious residents were happy there. The hallways were narrow and winding. They have Independent Living from $2875(475sf)-3900(859sf); Assisted Living starting at $5124(479sf) and Memory care(did not discuss). They have a life alert style pendant. A doctor visits once a week, nursing staff from 7am-11pm and medcare throughout the night. Enrollment fee $2500.
