We would recommend the facility. We feel like it is a good option for our mother with early dementia.

I think Five Star Premier Residences of Yonkers is very good. The staff is very helpful. The move in process was seamless. The meals are good. I would recommend Five Star Premier Residences to others.

The staff in general are very nice. I'm there a lot and have never heard staff be rude or mean in any way. They're typically very kind and patient. The housekeeping is good. Trash is removed daily. The room is always clean with the bed made. Communication with family is good on some levels. My mother has fallen a few times and I'm called with a full report. On the other hand, my mom's been having regular PT and I haven't heard from the PT ever. The nurses let me know about it. Move in was easy. Meals seem hit or miss, according to my mom. More things are good than not good, but it's only okay to her. I would definitely recommend the facility. I do think it's a bargain compared to other places. It's taken my mother a good month to get over having to move to a facility and it's important for families to not expect instant happiness.

They were very friendly. Beautiful facility. Mother choose it. It is very close to mom's church.

We picked this community because of the location to family, community appearance, location to shopping, friendly staff, apartment size and appearance, available activities

The experience is good. The administrative personnel are probably the worst as many seem unknowledgeable, but the other staff (front desk, dining, cleaners, etc) are kind and helpful. We picked it because of the unique mix of assisted and independent living options. We were able to choose independent but also have the option to add any additional assisted tasks, as needed, for separate additional costs.

It was a within my dads monthly income and he went and felt it was a good fit. We also looked at their sister community Palms at Ft. Myers. I thought that was nicer but he picked Calusa so we went with that.

From the first time I visited 5 ?? they showed genuine compassion and care giving. The first visit they went out of there to say we are a family, and every single action since then has affirmed this statement. Most importantly my mom loves her home and the community of people inside that building.

It is a small and friendly community which provides a plethora of services not only for independent living but for those who need assistance. There is a host of activities to keep the body and mind engaged. On site there is also a rehabilitation department for those requiring assistance with mobility. They provide three meals a day either in the dining room or in your unit. They are also sensitive to special dietary needs. Weekly house keeping and linen change is one of the benefits of this facility. Maintenance goes out of their way to help with projects that you need to do. The front desk staff accounts for everyone everyday twice a day. There is transportation to doctors appointments during the week and to church on Sundays.

I think the community members and staff are friendly. I enjoy the variety of options given for meals and dining given to the residents. Programming that accommodates to a variety of interests is appreciated.

As far as areas to improve on, I would say there was some major misinformation with pricing- I was given one price/amount that I was told was the total to be written on the check, and on move-in day was told that they forgot to add in the "$[removed] community fee".. after some back-and-forth, this fee was waived, but almost resulted in my parents not moving in at all. After the first few days, the dinners drastically went downhill, so much so, they started avoiding avoid the dinners all together. We were also told that there were to be hydration visits three times a day, and these barely existed once a day. Also, there didn't seem to be any verbal reminders or motivation to get them to partake in any of the activities. It seemed as if they had no idea they were happening. I wish the room would've been 100% ready for them but instead I had to track down a shower curtain, toilet paper, a working cable remote, and have the loose toilet seat tightened. My parents were also very turned off by the number of sick people walking around, coughing, which I don't think there's much the facility can do with that. On the upside, everyone was very friendly, accommodations and facilities were nice.

It is a great, affordable place, clean and staff are very nice. Highly recommend. I picked this place because it was in a good location and the best price. It also offered additional services if needed.

The staff members are friendly and helpful getting folks involved with activities Mom fell just 4 days after getting there has a surgery went 3 weeks rehab been back there for a week and they reduced the rent for days she was out which was great

I would recommend Calusa Harbour to others looking for retirement living.

Comments: Two staff members go above AND beyond. [name removed] and [name removed]. [name removed]is exceptional at her job! The facility and my Dads apartment are always very clean! She is detailed in her work! [name removed] is a caring soul. She is friendly and takes time out to help me getting my Dad off to his Dr appointments since I struggle with mobility issues myself. My Dad constantly complains about the food. He says the selections they have aren't appealing and they usually get his orders wrong. He also says they run out of things often. He is upset they raised his rent [fee removed]. I often feel he doesn't ask for more help from time to time thinking he will get more points on level of care and be charged even more per month.

Mom has been here over 1 year. We are very satisfied with everything at this facility.

What I like the most about the Calusa Harbour community is the friendliness of the staff as well as the location of the community. Based on my experience so far, I have already recommended this community to others and I will continue to do so

Our main negative feedback so far is their responsiveness. They appear a bit understaffed and care workers take too long to respond to requests. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families, but depends a bit on the situation. I'd have concerns with folks that require a higher level of care given the staffing.

My experience with Heartlands has been good but it really depends on what your loved one is looking for. My dad, while older than most residents, is more independent and active and in better healthy than most. The early dinner time is probably his biggest (maybe only?) complaint. The food is a bit bland but that's hard to avoid in a collective setting of this type.
