Five Star Senior Living

We've had a pretty good experience so far, with only a few minor issues, and some of that had to do with our person simply going through an adjustment period on his end. But it has been a good choice for him. The people are extremely friendly. Their willingness to go over and beyond and take care of the residents has been great. [name removed] in sales has been fantastic to work with. And the apartment is nice.

I would recommend Fountainview to others. However, we did have a couple of initial problems when mom moved in. Upon arrival, they gave her a wearable help call button. Three weeks after she moved in, I realized the call button wasn't working at all. They resolved it immediately, but I was concerned that it wasn't tested before they gave it to her. Also, they didn't wash her hair for the first four weeks, which is a long time. Once I brought both of those things to their attention, they quickly resolved them. Things are better now and we haven't had any other issues. Staff is ok, some are nicer than others. My mom seems to like the food very much. The facility is nice and clean. They keep mom occupied five afternoons a week with activities. I would probably recommend them. Even with our problems in the beginning, which again they addressed immediately once I brought them to their attention.

Right away when you walk into Overlook Gardens it smells very good, it is very clean and even with it being older it still has a certain charm to it. It is not overly crowded or noisy, the ambiance seemed to just really fit for our loved one - it is a very calm environment. Overall our loved one and our family is very happy and we would recommend them to other families.

I toured The Forum at the Woodlands and it was very nice. My mom would not have been able to do what she needed to, as she was having too many issues with mobility. The Forum would be better suited for someone who is a bit more mobile, but it's a very nice facility and I would have liked it otherwise.

This was a very nice community. It was too big and too expensive for us.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour experience, it was just not going to be the best fit for our loved one

We had a great tour experience with Overland Park Place. I felt that the facility would have been adequate for my loved one and what she was looking for, but the value for what you got and the location did not work out as good as another place we were looking at.

We toured Meadowmere & Mitchell Manor Oak Creek. They had a large complex of assisted living, which was a bit far away from the retirement/independent living. I thought that was odd. We had a good tour experience, they were very friendly. We chose another community because our main than was location & easy access, and Meadowmere did not have that.

Caring staff, friendly residents who seem very happy living there.

I thought the tour with The Forum at the Woodlands was very well done and the staff were all extremely professional.

We enjoy the staff not only being friendly to family but to our loved one as well, she has found friends amongst the staff. They are approachable and do respond to requests and concerns but not always in a timely manner. We have confidence in the nurse manager and her decision making, but we are not always confident in the decisions of others. We do think they could better improve their communication and alerting us on more things when it comes to decision making. Whenever we do have issues, we go to the director and they always listen, we never feel pushed aside. Our mother was welcomed immediately and really felt apart of things. We do not hear many complaints about the meals so we assume they are pretty good. We feel that our loved one is safe here.

I would tell others that are looking into Huntington Place for their loves ones that they really work well with the obstacles that families face in this type of situation. The staff members have been great with communication to the families. I would definitely recommend them.

The tour was nice but I was not the biggest fan of the layout for my loved one. It is a smaller facility and the apartment sizes here are much smaller but costed more.

Great community didn't like that the independent living wasn't connected to the main building. The main building is smaller than we had anticipated.

It sounds good to begin with. In the beginning expectations were set and not met over time. They over promise and under delivered. They have a lot of activities offered but they seem hit or miss to be handled and carried out. So sometimes people are standing and waiting for exercise class to begin and no staff show up to run the class. It seems inconsistent. The food is good quality and variety.

The people at Five Star Residences are genuinely interested in caring for the residents. I especially like that it is a smaller community, everything is on one floor. The distance from the common areas to their rooms was not as daunting as seen in other places. This facility is a hidden gem, I don't think a lot of people know about it. They truly have everything you'd want.
