Great staff, loved the level of care given

Overall I think they do a very good job at Somerford House. I'd give them high marks across the board, there are a few little things that could be improved, but in general everything is as nice as it can be. The staff is friendly and caring, the facility is well kept, and they take good care of the residents.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. I especially liked the RN, she seemed like a very competent person. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

They are very good and very nice people. I did think they would be a little better at encouraging her to get involved in the activities and in the community, and they have not. Overall though it has been a positive experience.

About five years ago my then 91 year old mother wanted to move from here senior living apartments on the Northeast side of Indy. We visited almost every assisted living facility on the north side if the city to find the best one for her needs. That exercise paid off because after meeting with Vicky Meier and taking a tour, my mother was completely impressed with the entire package including care, price, location and value. According to my mother, THE most important feature in a senior living facility is the quality and verity of the meals. After five years of living at the Forum, she still brags about the quality of the meal service. My wife and I usually have lunch with mom on Hloidays. We always experience a quality well prepared meal too. Last year my mother wanted to move to a ground level apartment from the third floor. Before she moved in they completely refurbished the apartment. New granite countertops, carpeting, fresh coat of paint and built-in microwave. It was like a brand new apartment.

They have always been very friendly and helpful. They took time to explain things that needed to be explained and were very patient and thorough. It has been a good experience and I would highly recommend The Villa at Riverwood.

My dad had very good and personable care. Rosewalk was a very clean and efficient facility. From the day we moved my dad in until the day he passed away the staff treated him with the greatest respect. I highly recommend Rosewalk for your loved one.

So far it's been very good. I don't have any complaints. I can call them, they are very receptive to phone calls. The staff is very receptive. They give you choices at meals so you always have options. Others have even told me that we found a good place. I am very happy with them so far.

The staff was really friendly and really took good care of the patients. Meals were always served on time and we're really good. If my Mom didn't like something she could have a hamburger or choose several other items. Special protein shakes could be ordered. The facility was very clean. My mom was always clean and had a blanket if needed and everything was orderly. I was there every day and things were always very structured. Pt and Ot were careing and did a good job with the patients. There were lots of activities and entertainment for the patients and Bingo of course. The staff was very helpful with everything and I was happy with the care my Mom received there. The staff kept an eye on the patients and made sure their needs were met by suggesting different meds or therapy and have an open door policy to help you make the decisions you need to make.

On February 24, 2015 we moved my Mom who had lived with me for the past 2 years into Morningview at Irving Park. First I spoke with Carol, an advisor at a Place for Mom. We spoke at length and she helped point in the right direction and shared some tips and tools for the search. Next I spent months researching, visiting and analyzing facilities. I chose Morningview for a couple of reasons, but the most important was the interaction I witnessed between the administration and the residents each time I visited. Whether the visit was announced or not the residents were always spoken to my name and they seemed to realize that they were actually cared for and about. Two to three weeks prior to the day she moved in, I felt nothing but dread, guilt, despair and nervousness as an only child placing my Mom. Was I failing her or my adored Dad who has passed away 7 years ago? Every one of those feelings were self imposed. Now as I see pictures when friends and family stop by, I realize I made the RIGHT choice. She seems to have adjusted well and there she has the opportunity to be around others, develop new friendships and be closer to her great grandchildren. Just because she has dementia does not mean that she can't be happy, satisfied or look beautiful. I am very thankful to those who care for my Mom.

I did go to Comforts of Home in Hudson for a tour and I was very impressed with it. I liked the layout, the apartments are very nice. My Aunt does live there already, and the Lobby is nice. I didn't get a chance to eat in their dining room, but would really like to. Staff is great and the location was in a wooded area and it just seemed inviting.

The help here is very kind and loving. My Mom has her cat with her and the cat is good for everyone! My Mother does not participate in activities but there seems to be enough to do to break up the day. I am looking forward to warm weather to enjoy the outdoor areas.

We moved my mom into Legacy Heights one month ago. We had visited 7 assisted living homes prior to choosing it. What really stands out about it is both the cleanliness of it and the friendliness of all the employees. Never have I walked in and smelled that odor that is common in many homes. The staff is always around to help in any way possible. So far we are very pleased with Legacy Heights and would recommend it highly to others. Mom is currently on the basic level of care with medication being administered to her 3 times day. Activities are scheduled daily and include, bingo, music, spiritual leaders, volunteer groups like scout troops, people that paint nails, do crafts etc. with the residents

My Grandma has been at Cameron Hall for about 8 months. They have been so good to her, and my family is very grateful that we can trust them with her care. Highly recommend!

My mother has lived at Cameron Hall since 2012. She is well cared for, respected and celebrated. They really love her there. That's what I wanted: for her to be loved and they really do. The community was family owned for 16 years and the owner decided to retire, so she sold to Five Star Senior Living and they have been very good for Cameron Hall. The only changes have been minimal and all good. I have experienced first hand that Cameron Hall is the kind of place that really cares about the residents. They are getting a face lift and I know people think that is important, but paint and carpeting don't make the community, people do. Cameron Hall has some of the finest people I've met. This is my mother's third community in four years and she's been well cared for here. I'm happy. You will be too!

We are so pleased with Heartlands overall. Our mother has been living there for 4 months and is really happy with her new residence. She especially comments on the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food and services. The activities that are offered are varied and plentiful. Her studio apartment is comfortable but dated and small for the price in our market area.

Upon entering The Palms you feel like your entering a very nice apartment complex and since our visit was in December everyone was a flitter decorating, but not to busy to stop and greet us. Our coordinator was very friendly, took us on a tour, had a complimentary lunch in their dining room. The food was excellent and the staff all very friendly. Dad decided that we really didn't need to look any further. He qualified for the Independent section and the do have an assisted living section as well. Some of the amenities are laundry service (small fee), room service (when you don't feel like going to the dining room), weekly house cleaning, trips to Walmart, various grocery stores several times a week, barber/beautician onsite, a wood shop, beautiful pool with several grills, outdoor kitchen. The apartments are very roomy and set up perfect with walk in shower, big windows and have been kept up. Dad is not overly social, but they have bingo, dances and many opportunities to have fun. They also offer discounts for Veterans and Delta retirees. The location is secluded, close to the interstate , doctors, and shopping. The Palms also accept pets and have plenty of places to walk them. I am so relieved to have found Dad a place all his own.

I wrote a May 2014 review below and still feel the same way. I had to move my parents due to my mom's declining health and dad wanted to be near her. They were NOT happy about having to leave Clearwater, as they felt it was home to them. The size of the building is not overwhelming, and people know each other. They loved the food, the room and the staff, especially the therapists and nurses!! In fact, the occupational and physical therapists called me to tell me they felt something "wasn't quite right" with my mom one week. When I went over, I didnt see a huge difference but I took her in to a doc, and sure enough, she had a bowel obstruction which had moved to gangrene! If it hadnt been caught quickly, I feel sure she would have died. The aids did a great job and kept my mom laughing. The activities director does an amazing job with decorations and events. The food is super. The location was convenient for me. I thank the Clearwater staff on behalf of my family for making this a good experience for as long as it was possible. God bless you all. Mom, who is 91, broke her hip. She is going there from the hospital tonight. I had a diff place all picked out for her close to home, but I read the reviews and nixed the whole idea. The other place had dirty floors and allegedly drugged the dementia patients to shut them up. Not for my mother. This place, after looking at 3 others, impressed me. Fireplace, hardwood floors, wall-to-wall pretty CARPET in the hallways, the largest 32" tvs for each patient.... but mostly it was the decor and the smiles and alertness on the patients' faces. Nobody was sitting there looking dead. All the elderly people were talking, smiling, doing something. That says a lot to me. I will update. She is going there tonight for her rehab.
