Five Star Senior Living

It's going very good so far. I don't have any complaints or concerns, and if I did I would address them with Somerford.

My aunt was a difficult patient. They did their best to please her.

In July 2009, my mom had a health situation which required me to move her from her home to a new residence where she still had independence, but not the responsibilities of a large residence to care for. Through her trust officers, I was directed to visit College View Manor as a possible "new home". A miracle had been answered, for when I arrived for the initial visit, I felt like here, mom would be "home". I brought her over the next day to view the two units available and she was in awe! We selected a unit on the ground floor with an outside entrance and patio so she would still be able to converse with the birds and nature daily. This was the best place I could have ever moved mom to. She was able to be independent, yet had the friendship of all the residents. Puzzles galore, great meals, attentive and personable staff and great Halloween costume contests every year. Unfortunately in May of this year, I had to move her closer to me here in Florida as her health was deteriorating to requiring a level of care in the "assisted" category. How I wish there was a College View quality here in Assisted Living facilities. In Joplin it wasn't about the money which is what it is all about in Florida. If ever a recommendation is needed for the friends and staff as well as the overall College View Manor, I have only incredibly positive words to express my gratitude for the care, loving and friendship everyone devoted to my wonderful mom.

Forest Creek Commons was the best place we found on the south side of Indy we found. Very clean great food i trust the people there to take care of mom.

We contacted a Place for Mom and from the criteria we gave they suggested 5 different facilities for us to preview. We previewed all and made our decision to relocate to The Forum in The Woodlands. You cannot start too soon on making the change. After making our selection we had a rummage. Next we made our decision regarding the furniture and supporting items that would fit. We then contacted an auction company to remove and sell the items we were not taking with us. Now the packing begun. Contacted a moving company after interviewing 3 companies and set a date for the move. A place for Mom will get you started in the right direction. We are very satisfied with our choice.

Everyone at Clearwater Commons has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make my mother's life as safe and as comfortable and as meaningful as possible. The warm and caring atmosphere here is not a put-on. The employees really are concerned with the well-being of the residents. There is a true sense of neighborhood and community among the residents. I can't count the number of times I've heard Mom say "I really love living here!" And the food is good. Very good.

Legacy is a first class operation. Good staff, clean facility, and overall a nice senior living center.

She is safe there, which was very important. She functions very well on her own. They just started the brand new independent living plus program. They contract with an outside company to come in and we pay them seperately for her care needs. My hope was that she would get involved with more of the activities during the day. If she was in the assisted living they would assign a person to her and get her involved in the different activities. They don't do that for the independent residents. I would like it if we had the option for that. The food is good, and at least at breakfast and dinner she is getting to socialize and interact. They do make an effort to sit her with people she can talk to.

I loved them, they didn't have an opening and they don't take medicaid at all. They were smaller, and friendlier, and brighter. It was very happy feeling place, the way they had it decorated. I've also spoken with friends who have loved ones there and they are extremely happy as well.

Dear Anonymous, I was shocked to see your note. Apparently you have not been around long. The Bridges unit, as you call it, is not a unit at all but home to my mom. The people who work there have become a part of our family. We like the size of the rooms because they are not overwelming, which someone with dementia or Alzheimers needs. You say the decor is boring, we find it very much like home and soothing to mom. Those with dementia need this type of decoration. In regards to people set around all day doing nothing......it seems you do not spend much time at the home. This is not a cruise ship, but a place where my mom can get her physical, social and spiritual needs met. I am surprised how many activities they do have with all the different types of dementia they deal with. Before you "not recommend" a place I would suggest you spend time in the home and pick up a book, maybe the "36 hour day" (this book helped me) to learn more about dementia. I know it is hard to have a loved one need to leave us and go to a home, but you can rest (if you are a daughter or son) knowing you have picked one of the best places. A concerned Daughter.

My mother-in-law has lived at Heartladns for several years. The care in the dementia area is EXCELLENT!! They even send us pictures of their events- yesterday they had a tea party for the ladies and it was wonderful. The staff are caring and always there for me. One of the reasons I chose Heartlands is because it is small and intimate.

My mother became a resident of the Assisted Living section of Heartfields at Easton in August 2013. The staff are very friendly and have been extremely helpful in getting my mother accustomed to her new surroundings. Mom has adjusted better than we expected, and although Mom has dementia and can be 'obstinate', HF has worked with her and is doing everything they can to make her comfortable. We are very happy with Mom's placement at HF Easton, and are thankful that we found a place where she is content and well cared for. It seems more like a family than an institution. We especially appreciate that they are 'pet friendly', as my Mom loves animals. There are many activities available, and they are presented with enthusiasm, but Mom doesn't usually participate, as she has never been real social. And that is ok. I am glad that we found Heartfields,

It is a beautiful and comfortable place for my dad to live in while he is still fairly independent. He owned his own home and took care of himself until recently when he had several falls and was growing weary of cooking and cleaning for himself. Legacy is the perfect option as he ages and needs a little help. They have wonderful meals and lots of activities for the residents.

Just after a tour and viewing the facility, we would consider moving him here if he needs to move out of his current place. It was really our first choice, but the price elsewhere helped sway us. You get what you pay for! And Five Star is a lot nicer. There were a lot of small things that we really liked, it is a newer facility, really appears to be much newer. Five Star separates independent and assisted living. The care may be a little bit more consistent with that arrangement based on our experience.

The food is excellent. It's been good, it's been a completely different experience than we had before at a different community.

Mom has only been there a few days. So far the staff has been very helpful in fininshing up any loose ends as well as making sure she has some help getting to know the facility and the activities.

Mom is settled in and doing great! She loves her room and is participating in many activities. The staff is so kind and helpful. The dining room is beautiful and Mom enjoys sitting with other residents for meals. We are so pleased that New Seasons was our choice for her.

Investigated three facilities and found the Clarks Summit Senior Living not only the nicest but the most reasonably priced. Staff was very helpfull at all leves. My step Dad has been in the facility for a few weeks now and is adjusting slowly. This is a chalange for him as he has lived alone for 9 years and lived out in the country. On top of that he does not drive. We find the the food is wonderful, the staff is always there to assist is needed and the residents are friendly. His room is very nice and allows for privacy. All in all he could not be in a better place.

I absolutely loved Rio Las Palmas. I toured several times and had a deposit down for several months. Unfortunately, my parents were not ready to move. In the end, I went with another facility because my father passed away and I needed Medi-Cal assistance for my mother.
