Five Star Senior Living

Of the many places I have visited this has to be the friendliest. It's like a big family.

We had a very positive experience. The staff was friendly, the food was good and they celebrated and made it festive (ie: cinco de Mayo) to mix it up when they could, our mom liked the activities and we felt it was a good value for the price.

I picked this community because of the price, and it's in a very nice part of town. Other places we looked at didn't accept Medicaid. It's nice and residents are friendly. My mom has made a lot of good friends there.

The staff has been together at the facility for a long time and are very caring. The communication with the family is very good. The meal quality is good. The only slight downside is the housekeeping, most specifically the laundry service. I believe the facility needs new machines and new equipment. Overall, I have been recommending Barrington Terrace for the experience of the staff, the care, and the overall attention to my mother.

Overall we've had a good experience, and I would recommend Stratford Court. Residents just have to be flexible. There seems to be many changes with staffing, which leads to dining changes and activity changes and cancellations.

We toured Five Star Residences of Fort Wayne and we loved the facility itself! It's very nice! However, our tour guide seemed pushy to us and also gave us some wrong information.

I'm currently a resident at The Forum at Deer Creek. Initial contacts with the staff were very positive. Ask as many questions as possible. Ongoing dealings are a little less successful. Housekeeping seems okay. I certainly would recommend a visit to this facility. The grounds are quite nice. The meals are very good and seem very considerate of dietary issues.

My mom is happy there and I would recommend them. As with any assited living there have a few issues but overall we are pleased. They have some very loving kind folks there. We picked this community because, it was bright and open. She likes her room.

Staffing has been an issue. They are very approachable. We picked this community because, it was one of the first places that we visited, and my loved one had friends there. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

What we really like about this community is the location, it is great. Based on the experience we have had so far with Huntington Place, we would definitely recommend the community to other families looking for a community for their loved one.

In general, the staff at The Forum at the Crossing are very respectful, kind and patient. Based off of our personal experience, I would definitely recommend this facility to other families who are searching.

Our family had an in person tour with Brandon Woods and we thought the overall tour experience as well as the community was good but for our loved one it was just going to be too large.

Our family had an in person tour with Park Summit and we thought overall it was a good tour experience. It was one of our top choices, however the only down side was the property - it was not as modern and vibrant which is what we wanted. It felt more weathered.

The system of communication between staff is poor. They do not seem to have a way of sharing information or relaying messages. There is no receptionist on duty to take messages. There are times when no one answers. If a person is independent, I would absolutely recommend Huntington Place. It's a great facility, but as my family members health declined, the communication/coordination problems began. If that was better, I would have zero complaints.

Areas of improvement - quality of care, and having the doctors follow up on orders in a timely manner

For our loved one who is used to eating frozen dinners, they seem to like the meals. The people are nice and the place is clean and they can handle my father's personality, so I guess I would recommend to other families.. But again, the price of these places are so expensive that the idea of value is hard to nail down.

I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

Friendly staff and residents. One bedroom apartment has large window in living room and bedroom for an open airy appearance unlike other assisted living places we toured. Large lobby area with couches and a fireplace. Several balconies for sitting outside.

Very nice. The apartment was very dirty. Not only construction dust and dirt but food residue in the cabinets and in the fridge. The floors and light fixtures we grimy and dusty from construction. There was a card from the person that cleaned it but she had not touched it. I only tell this because I happened to be there to get my brother and his wife moved in. Thank goodness they weren't Moving within no one looking after them. The dishwasher and some lights are still not working- even thought we have asked many times. They say the dishwasher is new and under warranty- it doesn't clean. The dirt is still in the bottom of the dishwasher after the heavy cycle has finished. My family likes it there and they feel safe. Also security isn't very tight. Many people walk the halls that are not residents. That is concerning as I live 3 hours away. My brother has not used a lot of the services. Hopefully I can get them more involved in the community this spring. I would recommend the Palms. Just don't like that they haven't addressed some of the initial issues since December.

It was helpful to know that Mom could stay there for hospice care. I could visit as often as I wished, and have my questions answered. There weren't many activities, but it was still during the Pandemic. I would recommend Huntington Place to others and had Mom go there because my father in law was there years ago as well.
